Never miss a recurring task again—bills, chores, meds, maintenance. Flexible schedules, reminders, widgets, history & notes, sharing, and fast sync.
Recurrence helps you manage and track everything relating to the repeating tasks in your life so you never miss a thing again.
Recurrence is more than just another app that reminds you what needs to be done — it tracks what you did, too. An example: you have a pet that needs medication. Maybe it needs checkups at the vet, too. Recurrence can remind you when you need to do give it the medication it needs as well as to arrange a visit to the vet, all while tracking things from past ones — what it weighed during the last visit, which medication was prescribed, and anything else you think might be handy!
By changing the way you think about reminders and repeating tasks, Recurrence becomes more than an app that reminds you to do things — it becomes the place that tracks your entire life as well.
Recurrence features include:
◆ Task tracking and customizable repeats

The idea of the app is great and is exactly what I was looking for, but I tend to not use it very often only because of one feature. When a task is overdue, after you complete that item, it should reset and no longer be overdue but instead it stays overdue until you mark it complete a certain number of times. For example: I have a weekly task of “Vacumm” and I have it scheduled to reoccur weekly. I skip this task for an entire month (4 weeks) and then decide to vacuum this week and mark it as done. Instead of resetting and making the task due again next week, it stays in the overdue category until I mark it done for each week it’s overdue, so in this case 4 times. For weekly, monthly, and yearly tasks it isn’t such a big deal, but I have a lot of daily tasks on the app and if I don’t mark things as done for a month, I have to check all of my daily tasks 30 times until it moves to the “due” category. It’s just frustrating beachse the idea of marking each of my daily tasks 30 times to reset them overwhelms me and I end up not using the app at all. I would really like to see an option to have tasks reset back to “due” after marking them complete no matter how long overdue they are.*Update* THANK YOU! The response from the developers was exactly what I needed! Although I still would like to see tasks reset back into “due” once marked completed (especially for tasks that are scheduled for specific days), the “repeat since last completion” feature will be a big help for daily tasks. I have changed my rating to 5 stars and appreciate the devs listening to my feedback and responding so quickly!
Developer Response
Thanks for the feedback! Not quite what you’re looking for but wanted to mention in case it’s helpful! When creating a task, you can choose the repeat type of “From Last Completion” with an interval of 7 days (or whatever you like). This repetition style doesn’t create a backlog of tasks if you miss multiple weeks.I’ve added to my backlog your request for more control over the current repeat behavior.

I've literally been looking for this app for years and have tried everything. I run a small digital marketing agency (and a very active personal life )requiring a myriad of ongoing and recurring tasks. I have become quite efficient and processed, and have tried many apps and systems. However, the one all seem to lack is the handling of recurring tasks. This app simply, yet elegantly helps me stay on top of these recurring tasks, without overwelming my already jammed calendar app. Although Apple Reminders integrates perfectly with Fantasitcal (my Calendar app), and aslo accomodates recurring tasks, it lacks the ability to track progress on those recurring items. Meaning, the same recurring tasks only keep rolling to the next day... creating an avalanch in no time. Not to mention, those tasks don't indicate performance over time as Recurrance does. Recurrance solves this problem brilliantly. I have a few minor feature requests that I've put in and got a response immediatley. I'm hopefull this will be an essential tool in the belt for years to come. Great app!!!
Works as advertised and responsive app developer

Quick and to the point. The app works as advertised and so far indeed meets my intended needs. I was looking for a clean and practical method of setting up various reoccurring events and have the flexibility to not be limited by subject matter. For example bills, subscriptions, memberships, chores, etc. Reason being, I wanted to streamline my primary planner from having to list hundreds of reoccurring events. Events that could present an unmanageable presentation of events when I see what is my daily agenda. It has a clean look, makes it easy to setup reoccurring events, and works well as a means to unburden my primary planner. Personally, I have tried way to many I have tried way to many applications trying to find the perfect match. I finally have my preferred main planner. But the approach of rolling with more subject specific applications for reminders of bills, chores, etc. resulted in application overload. This application helps reduce things down from my main planner without spreading all my tasks to over more than two primary applications. I bought the lifetime membership as it was reasonable and it helps support a indie developer’s efforts at creating something that helps folks like myself. Additionally, the developer was responsive to my inquiries for assistance with a function within the app. Finally, I would say the only aspect that I would strongly like to see is the addition of a calendar view within the application. Not a deal breaker, but something that could be useful for me and others. Keep up the good work.
Dead simple bur extremely utilitarian

I use Apple’s own reminders for upcoming ToDo lists and checklists. But for very routine, recurring things (like a scheduled pill reminder, or which week the recycling pickup includes garbage), I like the utility of this app better. It makes it cleaner to have things I’ve scheduled as one-offs or geo-fenced show badge alerts on Reminders, and to use Recurrence to show badges alerts for the regular things I need to remember routinely. I have adult ADHD and it is very easy for me to get distracted and forget. It took a couple days to get used to having the app badge showing how many things I’ll be checking off (even if they're scheduled for later) that day rather than it popping up a count of when they’re due or overdue, but I kind of like it better now. This way, I have a reminder of how many more things I still have to check off for the day. Whereas Reminders is more of a “what can I get to next,” on-demand task list. When the Recurrence app badge notification is gone for the day, I know I’ve taken care of all the things Ive deemed worthy of going on the list. Other plusses: - The app auto syncs across the whole Apple ecosphere - 5 free list items in the app were plenty for me to test the value - One price for all the different OS apps and good options for subscriptions or a lifetime purchase. - The developer was very responsive in clearly and succinctly answering questions for me with no upsell baloney before I handed over money (always a very good sign in my book). Wish list (very nit-picky): - The Catalyst (I think) rendering on MacOS could use some refinement for when the app window is open; but once you have your list dialed in, you don’t really ever need the desktop open. You only need to check off the items in Notification Center as they pop up when you’re at your desktop, which the app/Apple handles for you without the app open. Plus its 100% pleasurable to add and edit within iOS. - Maybe a sleep setting for tasks that might be contextual and can be ignored for a few cycles (I don't need to take the trash out if Im away on vacation).
