First off I want to say that I’ve bought every guide Mari has released, from her home guides, to her gym guides, and even her resolution guides. I love them all. My main problem with all of those is that downloading it on my phone and using it was a pain. So, I’d sacrifice keeping track of my progress on it for the convenience of not having to fiddle with adding text via what ever program I was using. This app is a GAME CHANGER for me. I can add how much weight I’m using, how many reps I did, and I can even put an exercise note. Then I can scroll through the history of that workout when I get to it again. I haven’t had any problems with “glitchy” videos, and slow load times. Every time I open the app it’s ready to go. I love that it doesn’t start out telling you how much weight you should use, so I use a weight that’s comfortable and challenging enough for me, and I can input that in the app too. It makes it more user friendly for me and doesn’t discourage me when it says to use a specific size weight and I can’t comfortably use that weight. Overall I love the app, and recommend it to anyone who loves gym guides or home guides but loves the flexibility to personalize them too.

I have been subscribed to this app since launch with a little bit of intermission but mostly pretty active with it. First launch had a ton of bugs but they have been listening to feedback and have improved things such as adding options when substituting workouts. This being said there are still a few features that are SO annoying I’m highly considering cancelling my subscription. The first one being that now you can’t just to substitute a workout from any in the library. It’s only the ones they have listed. For example, it is difficult for me to do single leg DB RDLs, you would think that just regular DB RDLs would be a substitute option… but no. It would help to be able to choose from the entire library but still have recommended suggestions at the same time. Some don’t even relate. I’ll be trying to substitute a glute workout but it’s giving options for abs or upper body etc. 2.) the timer feature for both exercises and rests bugs a lot. It usually only works for the first “set” of exercises (let’s say planks) then will not work for the last two. The rest timer often stops working half way through. 3.) This is the one that bugs me the MOST. PLEASE either move the complete workout button AND/OR make it so you have to confirm to complete your workout. I cannot tell you how many times I have accidentally pressed that button throughout workouts just moving my phone or trying to scroll and then you have to go all the way back and it’s more complicated than it has to be.

This app is really good. I’m on week 5 of my first plan and it’s been pretty easy to stick to. I’ve learned some new exercises and found myself being able to do exercises that I always used to avoid because they were too difficult! I like the concept of the challenges as a way to target overall wellness. I think they’d be better if they were tweaked a little so you could customize them and the tracker that they have is kind of annoying. I would also really like to see some add ons to the workouts like post-workout cool down stretches and upper, lower, and full body warmups with dynamic stretches and for example glute activating exercises in the lower body warm up. Also a shorter plan that requires no equipment for travel would be a great addition especially for the summer! I don’t think either of the founders are actually professional personal trainers so keep that in mind. It would be nice to see them consult with professionals and add in these types of things to address overall physical wellness. When I don’t supplement these areas on my own I see less results and I experienced more soreness and reduced mobility. I’d also like to see more vegan recipes they are kind of lacking. A secondary goal down the line I think should be a meal planning feature. I would love to see them turn this app into a one stop shop for all things health and wellness. I love the philosophy behind it and will continue to use this looking forward to new features. Thanks Mari!

Love Mari and her products, yet the app does not feel as integrated to the lifestyle and workouts on Instagram and stories. The workouts shown on her story/her posts are not in the app (so I’ve found) which I was super bummed about. I did the home workouts and could be just those maybe, but at present these are definitely designed for a “Day 1” never-worked-out beginner. I progressed from the beginner (coming back to working out after some time off) to intermediate rounds- made it 23 weeks total and decided to cancel my subscription. If anything, very good to pace yourself for consistency (as Mari would say this is important!) but I decided to end my subscription because I was looking to find ways on my own to increase the intensity at every workout. The last two 9 week rounds of intermediate level, I just found myself wondering why I was paying for the app since I wasn’t really following the guidance any longer? Great app for a beginner to learn some core lessons, but would recommend cross checking some of the moves demonstrated in the app (any lunge, bent over flys for sure) with proper technique pointers on a few other websites before exercising! All bodies are different for sure, but keeping the knee behind the toe is important and understanding proper form is key. Great experience to get back on track for consistency and will continue to purchase select supplements from her site, but hoping this will develop more in the future for more advanced folks- for people that are actually on Mari and Greg’s level.
