The machine this app is supposed to work with runs completely fine by itself without the app. The problems: 1. the device either never turns on when it’s supposed to be on schedule or the device never stops running even when it is off schedule. 2. The device NEEDS a schedule in order to operate. You cannot manually turn the device on and off at the push of a button on the app without a schedule. This is highly unintuitive. 3. Sometimes when the device is on schedule and it is not running and you press the “play” button on the app, it will simply ignore the command and return to a paused state. These are just the problems I’ve experienced in the 2 weeks I’ve been using the app. While I like the ScentAir Home and the scents that come with it, I got it for the compatibility with the app and the ability to create schedules…which leaves much to be desired. The device is VERY expensive but unfortunately it seems ScentAir skimped on the programming/software. This is not an issue with the hardware. This problem has occurred across 4 devices I have been provided as an exchange.
Can’t update new firmware. Just sits an spins

Tried updating firmware and it just sat there attempting to update it for hours. I came back and tried to see if I was disconnected from wifi but that wasn’t the issue. Then I tried to turn my display sleep mode off so that the screen wouldn’t go to sleep while “updating” then I closed then re opened the app and tried updating the firmware again, but it still never updated. This thing is janky sometimes. Sadly

One thing about the original app that was great was that it was flexible enough to connect to ScentAir devices via Bluetooth -or- WiFi. Regardless of login state. Then, they updated the app. The account info from the previous app, including schedules was lost in the "upgrade". A reasonable power user might think, "well, new app - I can see where the account info might need to be reset because of password hashes..". But, nope. The password reset link never sends an email. The new App Design is amateur and more or less reveals that you likely moved to a single codebase-multi client platform like React or Flutter, used budget offshore app template hucksters or perhaps let some VP of marketing vibe-code their way to the App Store submission. FWIW- You can do any of these and still not end up with a garbage UI/UX experience. I do this for a living. Things like the text overflowing your buttons are laughable and made me initially suspicious of the app as a phishing takeover attack of your App Store entry..Once I established a new account, I find that about half of your schedule and settings related save buttons either do not save or do save but fail to trigger navigation stack pops as expected. I'm actually sort of shocked the Apple App Review Team allowed this to pass due to the many HIG violations and lack of basic usability. To ScentAir management: you get what you pay for and it's very obvious you cut corners here. Savvy consumers might wonder where else cost saving measures will start to be revealed in your products. Be better.
Neither Bluetooth or WiFi work

The app is worthless since the machines don’t hold a connection to either BT or WiFi. And, you can’t control the diffuser manually either (there’s zero switches), so it’s money wasted. I can get a Bluetooth connection for about 5 minutes before it disconnects. Scheduling doesn’t work, power on/off don’t work. It’s dumb. My two diffusers have “needed a firmware update for almost 2 years, but impossible to do when the diffusers can’t connect to anything anyway. I want to like these because the theory is good and so are the scents , but I’ve told everyone to skip this product.
