* Story set off-world? No problem, build your own fantasy calendar
FOR PROJECT MANAGERS:
Break free of gantt charts with a range of views to visualise your project plan in new ways.
* Quickly break down your project structure in Spreadsheet View

FOR LEGAL CASE MANAGEMENT:
Create a visual representation of your legal case for clearer insights and court room presentations

FOR RESEARCH AND EDUCATION:
History is not just about events, but the people, places and ideas that connect them.
* View how people, ideas and advances in culture and technology are connected using Relationship and Subway Views.
* Use stacked split views to compare timelines for different civilizations, innovations, or historical figures.
* Create content specific to your needs by expanding on our starting education templates

more While it has a bit of a learning curve, Aeon Timeline won me over for a few key reasons: 1) Robust timeline feature coupled with a narrative layout 2)Multiple flexible views of the data from timelines to relationships to mindmaps 3) Integration with Ulysses which I already used (though darn, not iOS) 4) Very affordable price for all these features 5) Read only access to files if subscription lapses 6) the “pay as you need it” model — while I get perpetual subscriptions help pay devs, sometimes you don’t need every new bell and whistle. This model allows me to keep using the software as I need it until it either ceases to work on the hardware I own or has a feature I just can’t live without. This is incentive for both me and the devs — for me to keep using it because it has what I need and I don’t feel forced to pay, but also to the devs to keep a steady stream of features in the queue to incentivize me to pay again.Bravo Aeon team. Keep up the good work.

This app is so essential to anyone who needs to put together a comprehensie timeline of events and facts. The app can be tailored to suit different scenarios suited to your professional industry or personal needs. I, for example, am litigating my own case and this allows me to see all the Motions and Orders and those Events by the other party. It also allows you to attach documents to those events in the timeline which is essential. This makes it easy to see the event and have all the relevant docuemtns to that particular event without having to go back to your files to search for them. It also allows you to link People and Parties to those events specifically. Lastly, you can create a Narrative which allows you to group all those events and place them into each Narrative Folder allwoing you to address the individual narrative irrespective of the timeline. This means that if you are focusing to prove one element, you can have all the factors for that element in one Narrative Folder and so on. I LOVE YOU. Thank you for making this affordable for people like me, a single father who is fighting for his child.

It has an outline mode, timeline, it can show durations of events and single pinpoint events, I can even make family trees! This has been the best purchase I’ve made for outlining my large fictional story that spans decades and in many locations in a country. The price is well worth it, a steal even.If the developers read this:Honestly I love that you can label “locations” of events but another view that would be mind blowing so I could have everything I want on a single app would be a timeline-map feature such as when mapping out distances between two points and the journey from point A to point B to point C etc. since you can already upload images if you could have some sort of static map image that you upload that you can then pin locations and label the distance between points manually (so that it can work for real maps and fictional ones) and if you can slide through time and each time would have the linked character labels associated with said events in the pinpointed locations , it would be ideal.

I've tried this twice now and I'd hoped in the interim between uses it would've synced up more with its own functionality. No such luck. The subway view is great, and is the biggest organizational selling point for me. Unfortunately, unlike the timeline, the subway map isn't auto-generated based on entries to the narrative. You have to create your subway map independently of the other tabs. So, there's a lot of repetition, and then what, updates to the narratives require updates to the subway map? There might actually be a way to sync it all up, but my general point of view on productivity apps is, if you have to spend hours figuring a feature out, you're not being all that productive. Figma is intuitive, and arguably a more complex app. So are a lot of apps, actually. I don't mind a learning curve, but I've learned new programming languages easier than this. If you want to improve this app let people enter their content... full stop. The app should be what organizes it visually. I'll be asking for my money back.

3.4.12 09/12/2024
Constraints Panel:
- Violated constraints and dependencies now show at the top of the list.
CSV Import and Export:
- The order of exported items will now match the order you set in the app.
- When exporting relationships or properties with multiple values, each value will now go on a new line. For example, when an event is related to many different characters, or when an item has -multiple links.
- When importing a CSV, you can now set the internal delimiter within such fields to be a new line instead of a comma. This is to make it easier to import values that contain commas, such as a name like “Smith, John”.
- Fixed an issue where importing multiple items with the same name would sometimes create new items instead of updating existing ones.
Search and Replace:
- Searching will now also search item IDs (e.g. EV1).
Bug Fixes:
- Fix crash in Filter Panel that can occur when the narrative is disabled
- Fix issue where changing date format from relative to absolute may not immediately update the timeline view correctly
- Fix issue where calendar markers may render in incorrect location during scrolling

- Fixed a bug where duplicate events could be created when syncing updated version 2 files for the first time

-- Sorting --
- Lists of people and places are now sortable in the entity panels. Sort by label, color, or date.
- You can also set sorting for an item type from the Settings panel.
- Sorting has been standardized across the app. If you choose to sort people by their names, this will be reflected in Relationship View columns, item cards, the inspector relationship tab, dropdowns when selecting people, and more.
- Calendar markers can now be reordered and sorted too!
-- Subway View --
- When choosing to show intersections in Subway view, you can now choose between having the app arrange tracks automatically, or ordering tracks by your standard sort order.
-- Timeline View --
- The Timeline View header now shows a short message when there are items that aren’t shown on the timeline due to not having dates set.
-- Calendar Picker --
- The calendar picker now greys out dates that cannot be selected. For example, if you are setting an event’s end date, dates before the event starts will be greyed out.
-- Bug Fixes --
- The sidebar + button will now allow you to create items of types that aren’t shown by themselves in the sidebar, but that are parents of types that are. For example, if you have a Character Group type that is hidden from the sidebar but Characters are shown, you can now use the + button to create a character group in the characters panel.

The example timelines now better showcase relevant features and use cases, and new starter files have been added to help you get started faster.
