Some things take awhile from the city, but other things have gone very smoothly. The issue I just submitted - my Christmas tree not being picked up by recycling - was resolved within an hour. Impressive!Sure, some things requested take awhile, but multiple requests I’ve put in have been handled in what I feel is a timely manner. Thanks to the 311 crew for doing what they can to keep improving the city.

This old Bostonian is delighted with the convenience of the 311 app. I’m grateful to the folks in the Menino and Walsh administrations who centralized the reporting process and then automated it! And I’m confident that the Wu administration will continue to improve it. As others have noted, the app’s ultimate effectiveness depends on the responsiveness of the various departments. Issues are usually addressed promptly. When they aren’t, I follow up with another 311 report.

Not sure why Boston has a 311 app. The service is useless! The city does not care about resident parking. We have multiple cars parked on our street during TD Garden events and the only response to reports we receive from 311 is “case closed” or “duplicate request” My favorite is when they respond 48 hours later and tell you “the area is clear” ya think? The illegal parkers left two days ago. I don’t think these people actually work. Needless to say I’ve deleted the app and just call the tow companies myself.

Downloaded the app after seeing a needle in a park. Easy to navigate report options and call in. Within an hour a 311 agent was there and informed me they got the needleVery proud that the city has this service
