I’m concerned about the infrequency of updates. The app hasn’t been updated for over a year, and iOS 16 is out and still no sign of an update. It still states Touch ID instead of Face ID when a device clearly does not have Touch ID. Right now there are interface issues where some menus don’t respond to touch(ie trying to transfer money). Not to mention accounts overall don’t offer 2SV. Alaska USA, please invest more in your app dev and security…..Dev response said to update app… I’m on iOS 16.1, and have the most recent version of the app, on an iPhone 14 Pro (Face ID) and the interface still says “Touch ID” when it isn’t relevant to my device. I stand by my review above: invest in more app development cycles, integrate security features, and use the beta software when released by smartphone manufacturers to do the dev work ahead of the iOS (or whatever OS) launch… I expect better from Alaska USA.

UPDATE, 2020: Trying to add a payment to a biller whose name starts with “T”, but the app won’t scroll down the list that far. Portrait or Landscape mode makes no difference. Great! Now how am I supposed to get this bill paid?! Once I finish the migration, all my banking will be with another institution and AKUSA will be history. UPDATE, 2019: I don’t recommend this app. After almost 30 years with this institution, I just can’t even recommend using AlaskaUSA for any regular banking anymore, really. They changed the BillPay system and drastically complicated it. I used to schedule the bills to be paid ON my paydays and things went smoothly for years. Now the system includes both Send and Delivery dates for a payment. I found the system unnecessarily cumbersome and confusing. Several times now I’ve been hit by bills being paid when I don’t have the funds to cover them and ended up with hundreds of dollars overdrawn PLUS AKUSA’s $25 each overdraft fine! I don’t understand the reason for the change in the first place and I don’t understand how this is supposed to make my banking experience easier. After 29 as a member of AKUSA, I can’t take the financial burden of their BillPay “service”. I’m going to start migrating my business over to my USAA accounts.

Today I tried a remote deposit in good light with my desk lamp which has worked well in the past. The Remote Deposit screen shows a double overwrite logo of AlaskaUSA at the top and “Remote Deposit” header intermingled in the text. Something is glitchy here with the app headers and graphics. Worse, when I tried to do the photo steps of the check to deposit, the camera was inverted and the center point dot was going wild and off control. It took me 6 tries to get it right. Holding the phone camera way off to the left of the check has it “centered” somehow. Something is not right with the app, so I’ll uninstall and try to reinstall the app. This is the first time I’ve seen this issue.

You guys have recently updated or acquired a new system for Bill Pay..well, you need to go back to the old system because if you seriously think this new version is better or easier to use...you’re wrong!! Everything I’ve accustomed to before were gone. This new update or new vendor just ruined it. I can see pending or upcoming bills but it won’t let me schedule future bills with future dates. The dates are immediately plugged in for me and I can’t change it!! I need to be able to change the dates!! I’ve had Bill Pay service ever since they started a long time ago since 2002-ish (I think) and it was working fine and I’ve gotten used to it until now. It’s difficult to navigate. It’s to a point where I can say it’s a waste of time for me to use it! I might have to look elsewhere to use Bill Pay. Pls fix it and make it user friendly again. Thanks.
