Score Creator is a music composition application that is specially designed for mobile platforms. It's a simple but powerful music creation tool that caters your need of writing music on the go.
*** The app's user experience is completely optimized to make composing music on mobile devices easier and faster than ever. No more "tapping and zooming" the screen just to add a music note or a chord symbol. No more "dragging and dropping" from the palette just to add a sharp/flat sign. All you need to do to write a song is just tapping the keyboards (notes and chords) that are designed like a text keyboard. COMPOSING MUSIC IS NOW AS SIMPLE AS TEXTING TO YOUR FRIENDS!
*** Apart from being a songwriting app for songwriters, Score Creator also functions as a music teaching and learning assistant tool for music teachers and students. Teachers can teach students how to read music notation by directly entering music notes into the app and playing back the song, while music students can practice by themselves by notating their favorite songs into the app and playing along with their own music instruments.
*** The app is a perfect tool for writing different types of sheet music, including lead sheet, solo instruments, SATB choir, sheet for brass & woodwind bands, ...

I think this app serves it's purpose pretty well as a mobile composition tool. There are a few things that could be better, but from a free app, it is decent enough and there are ways of utilizing it to it's max. I first used this app about two years ago when I first started writing music. Since then I have found better tools away from the mobile devices (MuseScore, for example), but recently I wanted to start up an old iPad Mini that could not be updated past iOS 9.3.5. Luckily enough, this app appears to support from iOS 8+, so I thought I was good. Unfortunately, on this old device it only crashes every time I open the app. There is just simply not enough that an iPhone (for example) can give to be the perfect composition app, and it really requires a laptop (at least) to do everything. But for a (free) mobile composition app, it does the job pretty well. I hope this bug can be fixed (whether it is the apps fault or my device, I'm not sure), but from my past experiences with this app, it is a great starter and is worth a shot.

I got this app because I wanted to see what some of my high school music sounded like and I couldn’t find the music online. I really love the app but three things I would add would be the ability to do multiple measures of rest instead of having to put a measure of rest 7 times, and having and the ability to have numbered measures in the settings. With my high school music all of the measures are numbered and it makes it easy to find a certain spot, but in the app the only numbered measures are the beginning of the line which makes it difficult to find a measure when I need to edit certain measures. These are two small things that would be really cool to see added. The sound quality isn’t perfect but it is something I can live with. P.S. The xylophone sounds more like chimes then a xylophone and this is just me being nit picky, but, I am a percussionist and I was hoping to use this app to hear what the percussion section would sound like but I noticed that this app has a fairly small percussion selection, even with the drum set. By that I mean it doesn’t have many, if any, auxiliary percussion instruments like the gong, triangle, wood block, rolls for cymbals, etc. Adding a bigger percussion selection would be something I personally would love to see added along with seeing this app possibly becoming more marching friendly. For example, adding quads, different bass drums, and marching cymbal stuff. This stuff is by far not needed but just a recommendation from a percussionist that I would absolutely love to see.

I discovered this app about 3 and half years ago and I honestly didn’t think this app was any good. Some of the instruments didn’t even match the sounds, some were too loud, you could only make a song do big before the playback lags so you have to make a new score to continue. I didn’t let it stop me though because this was really only app I could use to play around with and make my own music. Time progressed and this app got noticeably better, most of the issues with the instruments were fixed but everything else remained. I would say this app would be considered a 4 star but this new update fixed my biggest issue: articulation and dynamics. These 2 things were non existent before this update. After seeing that this update gave us the access to really get more musicality out of the scores, that’s enough to bump this all the way up to 5 stars. I’ve noticed the lag playback on big scores is a problem and the auto-scroll still doesn’t work but I’m able to work around these problems. If you’re looking for an app that give you access to make scores on the fly for relatively low price for the full experience, I wholeheartedly recommend this. Trust me, it’s the most user friendly.

Ok. I n e v e r write reviews for things but this deserves one. I downloaded this app maybe a year ago to write down the music I wrote in a place that would serve all the functions I need it to. I thought I found that in this app. A little sensitive and touchy at times, but for the $2 i paid it was serving its function. Then it updated a couple months ago, and I didn’t think too much of it until I started playing things back or closing out the app. When I went to play back what I had written, it would only play 50 measures at a time, when before it would play a score beginning to end no problem. No, in order to hear my score in its entirety I had to upgrade to a full version of the app, which is a lot more than what I paid to download it in the first place. Not only that but I would close out of the app only to come back to it later to find half of my score erased!!! A full 4 hours of work. Down the drain. I took a breath, maybe I had bit something, maybe I just didn’t save it right, accidents happen. I started over. I backed up my file. I copied my file into another file. Came back the next day to find the copy gone and half the work I had done erased, yet again. I went into my other scores that I had completed and the same thing. It’s absolutely ridiculous. That’s over a year’s worth of original music just gone. Intricate, comprehensive, beautiful pieces of music and songs. Erased. Just like that. I have to start completely from scratch now, but most likely in a scoring app that’s not going to erase everything I’ve written. Quite disappointing.

Sorry for the problem! Could you please check the following:1. It seems the $2 you paid was the price for 3-month subscription, so you would be automatically charged for $2 every 3 months in order to continue using the full version. If you somehow cancelled the subscription after that, or the payment was unsuccessful, the version on your device would be come the trial version again.2. If you've chosen to use iCloud storage for your scores, it is likely there was something wrong with iCloud. Could you please try restarting your device, or checking if you're logging in to iCloud on your device properly and using the same iCloud account as when you wrote your music.Sorry again for the inconvenience and thank you very much for your support!
- Re-add old note entry modes.
