I️ really like that banks have apps to help keep you on track with your balance. However, Horizon’s app needs some fixing; once you deposit a check it will show up that day but sometimes after your deposit goes in it tells your full balance one day and the next time you check it says a negative balance.Sometimes it takes forever to update you balance. I’m a mom of a 5 year old and a set of 1 year old twins; it’s easy to open the app because I️ dont have time to write it down. (My fault I️ know) if you fix these bugs that would be great. Also I️ think the over draft fee is ridiculous if you draft over $5, you should make it $10 or $20 or at least make it up to the same amount your charging us one we over draft. Hint hint! Help us broke folks out once in awhile!

My husband and I try to stay with local business. Horizon bank is a nice local bank with great people that work there. However, there is an obvious lack of investment in technology. I could go on and on about what the systems can’t do. Depositing checks on your phone is almost impossible. I had to just recently close an account because I couldn’t get anyone to help me with canceling an automatic transaction. I emailed customer service multiple times, not even a response. If you open many accounts, you can’t get the correct account name on the checks from bill pay without extra effort. Opening a new account and getting it set up to be included in your log in is a cluster! We have opened many and it doesn’t matter how much we ask about getting this done, we will still have to email multiple times and go back into the branch office and get it done. The back office part of this needs work. It is hard to watch the hard working employees run without sufficient tools. If we didn’t have our first mortgage and credit line at Horizon, we would keep all of our Horizon accounts with our other accounts at E*TRADE and Chase. I write this review not to complain, but maybe if I add one more person saying this, it may tip the scale. I understand technology is expensive, but if you guys don’t do something soon, you will miss out and then not be able to keep up with your competitors. We are possibly paying our loans off in a few years, and I hope you guys can get a better system by then.

Too bad I can give this place a ZERO start review. Because I defiantly would. The real time of my account is ridiculous. Often so inaccurate that I don’t even bother to look at it until the next day or even days later because nothing is ever on there that should be. I’ve had it say anything from my balance being the exact same number for months back .....to my account being thousands in the negative but says the “available” is positive. Not sure what happened once this banks software switched from Salin bank to horizon. But maybe you guys should contact the tech team of salin and have them recode your software or update it. Because they had real time balances and transactions. Regardless of how long it took the retailer to post my transactions. And the most frustrating thing is that you “maintenance” your website or app every couple Sunday’s it seems ..... yet nothing changes for the better. I used to recommend this bank. That is no longer the case. I actually try to deter people from using it due to the fact that the online is so messed up and inaccurate that it’s not worth having a place to see your balance and transactions if they’re NEVER right! You guys should defiantly figure this out because other than than ( which that is like 70% of banking these days) this bank is fairly decent bank.

Have had this bank for years and deeply regret picking it. Trying to stick with it so we can raise credit and have the ability to get loans in the future but this bank is ruining that. When you bring up the fact that this bank app is garbage and doesn’t actually track purchases everyone says “you need to write down your transactions” no actually the literal point of a banking app is to TRACK your funds and spending. If I swipe my card and it gets approved it’s SUPPOSED to immediately track that on the banking app but instead a simple gas station purchase can take days to show up and don’t get me started on Sunday. The app doesn’t even work on Sunday EVER! On Sunday I’ll know I only have $100 and the app will say we either have $500 or -$300 but it’s never what our actual balance is. This is my second negative review as my first one was removed over a year ago. We are constantly overdrawn out of nowhere and I am trying hard to convince my husband to switch banks before this one ruins us. Great employees at the actual bank but this app is absolute garbage and has lacked ANY improvement in 3 years despite the numerous 1 star reviews. Someone help us all because lord knows we are all overdrawn
