more [Early Release 1.6.5] While notes were improved, no screenshots or images could be added in. Now, images can go straight into your notes. A few fixes on the manage booking screen and trip title modal, plus the flight blade now shows times in AM/PM. Nice and tidy.
1.6.5 May 7
[Early Release 1.6.4] It’s time to bring some of our beloved web features into mobile: New users get a sample trip to kick things off, transit options are now fully supported on mobile, and POIs in our hotel inventory now link through to their details page. The Others blade got a design refresh too. On the fix side, we cleaned up some map pin ghosting, sorted a few eSIM notification and status quirks, and patched an odd gap on iPhone 11. Feels tighter all around.
1.6.4 Apr 22
[Early Release 1.6.3] Spring cleaning pt 2: Checkout now catches any rate changes before you get too far down the booking path, and a few layout issues got sorted: truncated notes, a hidden footer, and date fields that couldn't be cleared are all behaving now.
1.6.3 Apr 9
[Early Release 1.6.2] Spring cleaning in full effect! Smoother, faster, and a few things that were quietly broken are now quietly fixed. The stays screen handles large hotel lists without breaking a sweat, trip images show up on invites like they always should have, and date ordering on your trips list finally makes sense. A handful of UI polish touches too, because why not.
1.6.2 Apr 3
[Early Release 1.6.1] If you’ve used our app while traveling, it’s probably powered by an eSIM. I’d argue it’s a basic necessity of all modern travelers. So now, not only can you buy our very own eSIMs from our app, you can also manage and install them in one place. It's the gasoline to our planning engine. While that’s being done, we also tidied up a few things on our planner.
1.6.1 Mar 28
[Early Release 1.6.0] The post-booking confirmation screen got a refresh: new design, smoother animations, and clearer status descriptions. We've also moved to Intercom for support, so help is easier to find when you need it. Custom locations were disappearing in the activity and accommodation screens. Fixed.
1.6.0 Mar 14
[Early Release 1.5.5] Getting ready here for the spring break crowd! We’ve moved and upgraded the mobile experience to also include the ability to manage your bookings right on the app. We’re also setting up the foundations for your booking confirmation to be instantly sent to you via the app and push notifications. If you book with Pilot, make sure you get the app to keep your reservations handy!
1.5.5 Feb 26
[Early Release 1.5.4] Hotels, hotels, and more hotels! We’ve patched up several bugs and made improvements to the whole checkout experience, especially on the usability, security and performance aspects. There’s still a lot more improvements, but a good first push. Anyone looking forward to your next trip?
1.5.4 Feb 11
[Early Release 1.5.3] New updates and fixes here! Map pins are now grouped for a cleaner view, and the stays screen correctly centers and zooms to show your markers. We fixed issues with payment creation, pricing accuracy in checkout, and editing costs with different types and currencies. No fuss, all fixes.
1.5.3 Jan 18
[Early Release 1.5.2] New year, new updates! As you’ll likely not recall, we made some major foundational improvements to the planner a couple months ago. As a result of those updates, there were some, let’s call it "rogue" activities that were inadvertently formed, which has caused some problems with core actions. We’ve since fixed that, and introduced new gates to ensure we prevent these anomalies from happening. Hope you had a great holiday season!
1.5.2 Jan 8
[Early Release 1.5.1] Some small but important improvements are coming your way. We revisited our Facebook login flow, and it should now be more reliable. We also made backend upgrades to keep your planning experience running smoothly. Other than that, this should be the final release note of the year. If you’re reading this — Thank you for a great year of planning, and hope to see you in the big 26!
1.5.1 12/24/2025
[Early Release 1.5.0] New improvements incoming for our transportation section of our planner! It’s now compatible with most popular transportation apps for faster navigation. We’ve also got our brand new map markers coming into mobile from our web version, and some other improvements on how transportation blades are shown in the planner. More to come, but here’s the first bit of the improvements planned before the new years!
1.5.0 12/15/2025
[Early Release 1.4.9] Quick patch round! We’ve improved email validation in guest forms, fixed a pesky OTP issue on phone auth, and Facebook login should be behaving again. Smooth and steady.
1.4.9 12/11/2025
[Early Release 1.4.8] Counting down toward the holidays we’ve got some exciting improvements. The map style you see on mobile is now consistent with the map you see on our desktop app: I know, not the most exciting, but at least now they’re the same. We’ve also fixed a few navigational issues and made some improvements to the map pins.
1.4.8 12/07/2025
[Early Release 1.4.7] A few fun updates and fixes in this one! We’ve added a new active trip design—once your trip kicks off, you’ll see a special trip card. We also fixed an issue where you couldn’t scroll to the bottom of your itinerary, and made sure transportation items with missing info still show up. Plus, some light design touchups to keep things looking crisp.
1.4.7 11/28/2025
[Early Release 1.4.6] Small but important fix this time! We've patched an issue where transportation items were mysteriously reappearing after you deleted them (our bad), along with some other improvements to keep things running smoothly. Onwards we go!
1.4.6 11/25/2025
[Early Release 1.4.5] This one’s all about performance and polish. Trips should now load way faster on mobile (finally), and we’ve upgraded how we store data behind the scenes for even better app speed. We also gave the transportation screen some love, fixed a few mobile quirks, and made sure deleted flights actually stay deleted.
1.4.5 11/21/2025
[Early Release 1.4.4] Big update this time behind the scenes. We’ve gone through and updated all of the outdated or stale stuff from our early builds and made some bug fixes along the way. While it’s mostly on the backend, we’re hoping there’ll be some noticeable performance improvements coming your way.
1.4.4 11/17/2025
[EARLY RELEASE 1.4.3] Small but important improvements this time! We’ve made an oopsies and used a different airport code on our platforms, so we’re going to consistently show IATA codes from now on. Zoom on the map was also doing wonky things and we’ve patched that as well. There’s also a spooky thing where text input sometimes disappears when typing on the planner. Spooky season incoming~
1.4.3 10/28/2025
[EARLY RELEASE 1.4.2] I honestly can’t believe it’s already fall. We’re starting off fall with a small but satisfying update: you can now leave trips on the apps. There’s also more fixes targeting buttons not being as responsive to taps. Probably not as glamorous, but equally as important. Side note: Can you believe there’s only 3 months left in 2025?
1.4.2 10/14/2025
[EARLY RELEASE 1.4.1] Small update! One of our previous releases made newer versions of the Pilot incompatible on some devices (our bad). This release should fix that so everyone who has been using the app can get access to exciting updates we’ve been pushing out, phew!
1.4.1 10/01/2025
[EARLY RELEASE 1.4.0] Did you know you can book hotels via Pilot directly now? Wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t. There’s a bunch of glitches that we fixed to hopefully make it easier to find them. Oh also, weird glitch when inviting your tripmates where we casually ignored the 2nd invitee. How rude of us, my apologies. All patched now!
1.4.0 09/25/2025
[EARLY RELEASE 1.3.16] Smaller push this time round, but arguably a big improvement. In the past, when you received an invitation to a trip, you’ll be redirected to the web version of our app. Our app is left out (and is sad). After this update, it’ll be directed to the app instead of the web browser, which is a better experience anyway.
1.3.16 09/19/2025
[EARLY RELEASE 1.3.15] Got an exciting one today: Notes just got upgraded! For the past while, we’ve seen y’all using notes in many different ways, so we decided to make that easier. Rich text formatting (headings, bold, links - go wild), better checklists, and full mobile sync so you can jot things down on the go. Note: Thank you!
1.3.15 09/17/2025
[EARLY RELEASE 1.3.14] This week’s update is all about you. Here’s the thing, we really need your help. If you feel like supporting us or think we’re doing a good job, please let us know since you’ll be seeing our new requests for review modals. Might just be a few words, but your positive support means the world to us. Every one of us. Thank you!
1.3.14 09/11/2025
[Early Release 1.6.5] While notes were improved, no screenshots or images could be added in. Now, images can go straight into your notes. A few fixes on the manage booking screen and trip title modal, plus the flight blade now shows times in AM/PM. Nice and tidy.
