Some Bill Pay functions are periodically non-functional, especially in the evening and on weekends (setting up bill to be paid and editing or adding a payee), can’t edit a payee to correct spelling of payee name, system converts an apostrophe to a “?” In payee name (such as “Sam’s Club” keeps being converted to “Sam?s Club”), can’t correct or change address of payee or my payee account number. On bank account activity, bills being paid show as “pending on the day scheduled but then disappear the next day and don’t show back up again until the bill is actually paid. Should stay visible in the account the whole time it’s pending as well as when and after it’s paid.

App is less user friendly than previous app. The new layout is okay in seeing current balances but the flow within an account is awkward. Loan repayment is terrible! Previously I could do one payment, identify extra principle and the regular payment would be subtracted. Now I have to schedule 2 payments one for the regular payment and one for extra principal. Also, you can’t set up the transfer ahead of time for the regular payment. That is so absurd!! If I’m in my account I should be able to go ahead and set the transfer but it won’t allow it!! Why??? I have to remember to go back into my account at a different date to schedule a transfer when they post the payment. The payment amount is the same every month!!! And to have a separate area to set up those transfers that is different from the quick transfer!!! It was not easy to find and I had to message someone each time with these situations. Terrible setup and app!!!! Would NOT recommend to anyone.

The new Atlantic Union mobile banking application has many positive features and improvements. But all of these are outweighed by the removal of mobile deposit capability. The previous Atlantic Union mobile banking app included mobile deposit capability with its iPad version as well as all other versions. And even the new AU mobile banking app still provides the ability to make mobile deposits for the iPhone. But for some reason this vital function was omitted from the iPad version of the new app — even though iOS and iPadOS are closely related and ALMOST identical! Regrettably, if this glaring omission is not fixed within another few weeks, I will be forced to move to a new bank, which DOES provide mobile deposit capability to its iPad as well as iPhone customers — even though I otherwise love Atlantic Union and have been with it for many years. (Obviously I do not have a cell phone, nor any other Internet-connected computer or device besides my iPad. And I am heavily dependent on mobile deposit.)

Whoever is making the technological decisions for Atlantic Union needs to be seriously evaluated. The new “update” is a serious downgrade from previous apps. When American National first merged with Atlantic Union, I didn’t mind the new app, with one major exception- I could no longer view my business accounts with the same login as my personal accounts. We were told this would be fixed with the new app but that was obviously not the case. To further complicate matters, with this new app we lost all ability to view our Atlantic Union business credit card account from the business dashboard. It’s pretty bad when you can’t even support your own credit card services. It makes managing business accounts virtually impossible on the go. The interface is fine, but it has taken some major steps back with functionality within the last 2 years. If I could rate negative stars I would. I’m not picky when it comes to bank apps, but the downgrade in functionality is horrendous.
