As a long-time die-hard KA fan, I am thrilled to see an app. This means I can finally stop keeping 12 King Arthur tabs open in my phone’s browser! The good: I love the simplicity, the design, the recipe box with folders, the built-in timer function. I already have several folders going to organize the bakes I’m trying to do. The pain points: 1) Recipe box sorting needs work. Currently, none of the filters seem to change the order in which recipes show up. 2) I wish it didn’t insist on making me turn on push notifications. I don’t want push notifications from most apps and don’t feel like I need them here (except for the timer, I guess, but I should be able to opt out of that.) 3) I see from other app reviews here that the team is working on getting extant reviews to show up on the app! I hope it happens soon as I definitely use those to check if there are any common pitfalls other bakers ran into with a recipe or successful tweaks they’ve tested. 4) This is not app-specific and may be a personal quibble, but I wish the “bake mode” toggle appeared at the top of the recipe rather than in the middle (ie after ingredients and before instructions). The measuring phase is when I need cake mode most badly and I always have to pause and hunt for the button because it’s not next to the ingredient list.

The app still needs a great deal of work.I will try my best to list them here:After writing a review, it prompt you to share your review to social media. However, the review is never available at that time and when the review is posted, all it does is lead to a page with no review, this is the same issue on the website.When writing a review, the media that is uploaded should show image icons not the names of the files. This used to work on the website, but changed with the latest update within the last week so now the same issue exists in the app.When uploading media to the app, a messages received that it did not upload due to a network issue. There is no connection issue currently so the issue is with the app not on my end.There is no yes or no option in the review section for recommending the recipes. This does work on the website.Using the rustic sourdough bread recipe as an example, the baked checkbox no longer can be found, but this works on the website. It is also prompting me to be the first to write a review for this when there are literally hundreds of them, but the reviews are not showing.I feel this is a good start, but there are lots of basic functions that are not working correctly in the app. I am an avid user of your website for both recipes and posting of reviews so I am very familiar with the flow and issues that currently exist. I really wish there was an easier way to work through bugs for the website and for this app.

I’m a big fan of all things King Arthur, and this app is no exception. The feature that keeps the app active and lit is really useful—I use this often when I’m baking. I love being able to designate favorites and recipes I’ve baked. It’s well organized and intuitive to use. Two suggestions—it would be fantastic if reviews for recipes could be sorted by “most helpful” to make it easier to find the best tips from fellow home bakers. And the app does crash and freeze more than I’d like even though I’m on a brand new device, running the latest iOS, and have the current version of the app. Otherwise, kudos to the KA developers!

I’m so happy you finally have an app! This is very exciting! There’s a lot to love about it. The search function works well. I appreciate the categories on the home page. So far it hasn’t had me log in again. The pictures are clear and crisp. The app hasn’t had any bugs. It’s pretty good!Some room for improvement with a few areas. Stop the notification pop up screen! It asks me if I want to turn on notifications once or twice every time I open the app. The search function should allow people to scroll up by pressing the top of the screen. Also, the search function doesn’t allow for filtering by ingredient like on the website. Lastly, please stop refreshing the app after I leave the app for a few minutes. Stay on the recipe I was looking at.
