Nothing here changes what the app does. It changes what it tells you. Usage data is off now until you turn it on. It used to be on unless you went looking for the switch, and asking first is the right way round. The notification card described only the reminders we send you, and never mentioned the messages your family leaves, which was the part worth knowing about. The faintest text in the app was too light to read comfortably. The two recording tabs now say whose voice each one is for. And the handles that trim a recording can be moved with VoiceOver, so trimming a message works without sight.

Bringing your family in is free now. Invite anyone, any time. If the family isn't open yet, their place is kept and they come in the moment it is. Nobody has to try again. When you start a capsule you can name the people who love your child, and send them all one message with your family code. We also ask whether your little one is a girl or a boy, so the app speaks about them the way you do, and the tab bar stays readable at larger text sizes.

Photos you attach from the Calendar are now kept at full quality. Settings tells the truth about backup. It stays calm when you're simply offline instead of asking you to sign in again, it says how much is still to go, and everyone who records can see it now, not just the person who started the capsule. In the Calendar, press and hold a photo to see it properly before you choose it. A video now shows a picture of itself in the day's list, instead of a grey symbol.

Your words are kept exactly as you write them. A long note could lose part of itself on the way to being sealed. It cannot now. Coming back to a new phone works properly. A capsule you restore keeps saving to your account instead of quietly stopping. Settings tells you the truth about backup. It now says "Backing up" while your recordings are still on their way, and "Needs attention" if something went wrong, rather than always saying they are safe. A second parent can help. Give someone the co-parent role and they can invite family, manage the phone line, and curate treasures, the same as you. The plan screen is clearer, with the yearly price shown by the month. Tiny Treasures appears in CarPlay, so your capsules are with you in the car. Small fixes: switching children no longer shows the other child's moment for a second, and adding your phone number is easier to find.

Your recordings can now be backed up, free. - Every parent can create a free account and choose to keep a private copy of their capsule, so a lost phone never means lost recordings. - Backup is a choice. We ask once, after your first message, and the offer waits in Settings if you decline. Nothing you recorded before this update is ever uploaded without your explicit yes. - We store your recordings exactly as you made them. Nothing is transcribed or analyzed, and a backup never changes who can see or hear anything. - Signing in with Apple or Google now comes first, so a returning family member is recognized and a capsule can find its way back to you on a new phone. - Sessions now renew themselves, so a backup never quietly stops working. - Fixed an issue where deleting your account could silently do nothing.

Family who do not use the app can now be part of the capsule. Add a grandparent by name and phone number, and when they call or text the family line, what they leave arrives from them, by name.\n\nBirthdays now bring a gentle invitation to leave a message.\n\nVideo: record or add a video to a message, see it on the calendar, and share one straight from Photos.\n\nFirsts: pages for the moments worth keeping, that the whole family can add their voice to.\n\nCapture from anywhere, without opening the app first.\n\nThe family page has been rebuilt. Each person is one calm card now, with everything about them behind a single tap.\n\nFixes, mostly for the people you invite: a birthday that showed a day early on their phone, shared messages with no play button, and treasures that would not load.

A big, warm update for the whole family. Video moments: catch a few seconds of a real moment and keep it beside your voice and photos. Film as long as you like, then trim to the piece that matters. Firsts and Favorites: a quiet place for a first laugh, a first word, a favorite song. One page, and the whole family can add their voice to it. Also new: leave a message from the Action Button, Control Center, or Siri. A family voicemail you can share like a keepsake. Fixes to sharing photos, joining a family, deleting your own messages for good, and a calmer place to sign in.
