This app is amazing!!! First, it makes me feel super safe. In Texas, it is LEGAL to carry blades on you (I think they just got rid of the measurement on them), so I usually had that to keep me safe when taking my dog to go potty in the dark. I live in an apartment complex that barely has any light near the grass where dogs do their business. I kept my blade on me because I was so scared something might happen. Now that I found this app, I don’t have to hold my blade so close to me. If anything happens, the police are on their way! I absolutely love that. I don’t even have to dial 911. I can just let go of the button and BOOM, they send what I need where I am. Second, they are very caring. I know it’s just an app, but the messages on the app are kind of comforting in a way. When I let go of the button and put my pin in, it says, “We’re glad you’re safe” and also texts it to my phone. Again, I know it’s just an app and it’s programmed to do that but I honestly haven’t seen any other app developers do that with their applications. I just prefer this app over the others. I promise that this app is very great and that you’ll love it. It sounds a little sus but I am NOT being paid to say this and I do not work for them. I know many people think that good reviews are typically written by people they hired but I am not one of them. Again, it’s sus but I promise this app is just the best when you want to feel safe and don’t have any weapons on you. Stay safe y’all :)
Noonlight saved my life!

TW: domestic violence There’s no other way to say this other than Noonlight saved my life. I downloaded it when I was in an abusive relationship and didn’t think I was ever gonna get out of it. I activated my panic button twice rapidly and the first time I used it I had to lock my phone immediately and hide it and since I didn’t respond or answer the calls within 60 seconds I was alerted police were on the way to my location and after several minutes which felt like hours I was able to leave the situation and talk on the phone with Noonlight and the call to police was canceled because I was safe. The second time, I was able to reply to the immediate text I received but with only the word “help”. I received a response back immediately that said, “We are calling you, please answer.” I answered the call but couldn’t put it to my ear and say anything but I wanted them to know what was happening so they could let police know. Within minutes of activating the button 2 deputy sheriffs we’re jumping out of their cruisers to my rescue and I could hear more coming behind them. I could finally take a breath and let Noonlight know I was going to be ok. Seconds feel like minutes and minutes feel like hours when you’re in a life threatening situation and if it weren’t for Noonlight, I wouldn’t be here today. I will always have this app on my Home Screen.

I work odd hours as a nurse and I’m the off shift, so I’m typically alone in the dark walking to my car. I always have pepper spray in one hand and the Noonlight app open on my phone with my thumb on the button in my other hand. It’s such a creative innovation and the fact it’s free just means so much. I highly recommend it to all of my friends. I accidentally didn’t lock my phone screen and evidently opened the app and initiated the countdown process unknowingly. Once the timer was up, I was getting blown up by the people at Noonlight via text and phone call. I was at work so I responded and they cancelled deploying cops to my location, but it was amazing to see how diligent they were. I feel bad I accidentally caused the chain reaction to go into play, but seeing how they handled it all was nice to know, as well. They also checked in with me via text a few times later on to make sure I was still ok. It just meant a lot that a complete stranger was truly concerned about my safety. They clearly have a great system. Like I said, I highly recommend this app to everyone. It’s provides a great extra layer or safety and security when walking alone anywhere as a female. I’ll even have it ready if I’m out with friends and there’s several of us going place to place. At any point where one can be vulnerable, this is a great app to utilize!

Helps Me Feel Much Safer

TL;DR: I think this is a really great product and it helps me feel a lot safer and more confident when I’m out alone. I recommend this app to absolutely everyone. I’ve recommended it to all of my friends, it genuinely is a lifesaver. Literally. Longer version: as a very visibly queer person and SA survivor I am often fearful when I’m out alone, even having developed agoraphobia due to the anxiety, but with the help of Noonlight I’ve been able to feel much safer. I truly believe this app could, and probably has, saved lives. I feel confident knowing that if I’m ever in a dangerous situation I won’t have to rely solely on having the ability to call 911 and speak to emergency services thanks to Noonlight. It’s an extremely simple app to use and the inclusion of features like your safety network, who can request a check-in if they can’t reach you, and the timeline (which could provide essential information in an emergency) are wonderful. While there are premium options available they’re very much optional and the free version is just as effective for day-to-day use in my opinion. I also very very very much appreciate that there aren’t any ads or pop-ups in the free version (that I’ve encountered at least). While that might seem obvious, I still think it’s worth mentioning. I would recommend this to absolutely anyone and in fact I have recommended it to every single one of my friends. Thank you so much Noonlight, I honestly feel emotional thinking about how much this app has empowered me to live an independent life and to even be able to go out to events and social gatherings without so much fear.
