I have attended church almost my entire life (I’m 56 now) but never really “got” the message(s), the structure, the meaning(s) as I was being spoon fed disjointed verses and stories. When I tried reading the Bible on my own I burned out on it quickly for lack of understanding and attention span. VBVM presents the Bible as both history book and novel explaining the historical basis for much of the writing, the nuances in translations, and most importantly how the Bible is a “whole novel” - everything interconnected not just a collection of disparate stories slammed together by man to be used for mans purpose in the name of God. I have found the insights provided by these studies to be both frightening and exciting (mostly exciting- probably more challenging than frightening). However the material is presented with humility letting listeners know that this is presented with their understanding as it stands today - asking God to provide them and anyone listening with guidance and direction. I have been blessed by these lessons and wanted to encourage anyone who has the least amount of curiosity on what the heck this book that’s lasted for thousands of years is all about to give this app a shot. By the way - I started with the older version of the Revelation study supplied on Apple Podcasts then listened to Matthew and have started Isaiah. The Revelation study is amazing as it actually is a study of the whole Bible that leads to this epic final chapter. Riveting. LOVED IT.
Literally a Godsend

Several years ago I was praying for a right teacher to help me study and understand proper context, modern church services don’t really teach anymore they give you a theme and apply it today but I have always desired to understand the historical context of scripture.. while praying I asked God if there was a such thing as teaching the scripture verse by verse and I was led to search that specifically.. I was astonished when I came across this app and Pastor Steve. I was blown away at how he was teaching exactly what I was praying for. I began sharing this app with everyone I knew who also wanted a solid teaching of the word. I was so taken by how Pastor Steve taught and researched him just to learn that the Lord led me here three months post mortem. I have listened to many of his teachings and still do. I have also studied by the others and am still so thankful that this app exists. Expository teaching of the word is exactly what I wish more churches did and wish I lived closer to this one. Thank you for allowing others to learn honest truth in the word even from far away. This app was literally an answer to prayer.

This is outstanding and just what I was looking for to help get more out of my bible studies. So glad I found this while you can still find Christian apps in the app store, with the way of the world there’s no telling how much longer that will last. Get this and listen, it will surely improve your understanding of scriptures. He explains things like no pastor I’ve ever known could do. He is a teacher and a half. Get this you won’t regret it. We started with Revelations and still have a lot to listen to on that. This will vastly improve your perspective on how to study scripture.

The teaching in this series, in this app, from this ministry, gives such scriptural clarity, I know it warms the heart of God. MEAT.The richness of the teaching, the depth of the teaching, the biblical understanding that I have gained… more people need, starting from Genesis! My prayer is more people will download this app. I wish I knew about Stephen Armstrong before he passed (years after discovering this, I grieved his death, despite knowing he is with Christ, “ God rejoices in the death of his saints ”) I just began to found this ministry after that fact. May the Lord bless his wife . me more of Christ sheep, hear his voice .
