SPOT satellite devices provide GPS location-based messaging, emergency, and coordination with Search and Rescue and anti-theft alerting and tracking beyond the boundaries of cellular. The SPOT satellite technology, powered by Globalstar, has initiated over 7,000 rescues around the globe.
The SPOT App allows you to view messages sent from your SPOT device, track progress, or monitor assets.
Features:
• Display SPOT messages with GPS locations on a standard map, a satellite map, or hybrid map
• Filter your SPOT messages by date range, message type, or device type
• Easily zoom to the most recent SPOT message
• Select preferred GPS coordinate display format
• Option to auto-delete SPOT messages by time or quantity within the app. Auto-deleted messages are removed from the app but remain in your SPOT Mapping account for 3 years
• Set the frequency to check for new SPOT messages
*The SPOT App requires a SPOT account with an active SPOT satellite device and a Wi-Fi or data connection to view your SPOT messages. To learn more, visit FindMeSPOT.com.
Underwhelming. The UI is very basic and doesn’t have any features you’d expect from a subscription based GPS tracker - like cloud based storage. It appears to store everything locally, so if you lose your phone or it happens to be in the equipment that’s stolen, you have no ability to see movement history. Basically, you start fresh when you download the app. It’s also odd that they have different apps for each Spot device. It seems it would be better to put all the development muscle into one app that works really well and also allows Spot users to deploy different devices from 1 interface. As for the tracking, it does work and that’s why I keep it. Cell providers are starting to offer similar services with cool features, so I’m not sure how long I’ll stay.
Not good at all.

This app is just as bad as the website that spot has created to locate the gps sensor. Poor design, icons are something a child would draw. The menu or options you have are very limited. When you set a filter it does not work. It has an area to set times although it does not work. I am paying for the extreme tracking which is 200 bucks a year and I should be getting updates on my device every 2.5 mins but that is not always the case, sometimes it's 10 mins. I moved my device and I got 20 miles down the road till I got an alert. 29 miles! 18 mins later I got the alert! Don't know if this was an app issue or a system issue. Nevertheless this app is horrible and so is the extreme tracking service. Wondering if I can get back my money. 10 years ago I went with a different company, the website was waaaay better than this app and that was 10 years ago! hummm maybe they are still around. Kicking myself for this purchase and free download.
Very happy, In fact first recommendation I’ve ever written

After purchasing this product and activating itI myself was quite confused as to how it operated. After speaking with tech-support I might add at about 10:30 PM at ... they answered promptly. After about five minutes I have a solid understanding and put the device to use. It did exactly what I needed to do. Real time Continuous tracking, accurate to within a parking space. And when I go off grid the family will know exactly where I’m at at all times. The app itself is perfect One click shows exactly whether the Tracker is located. Another click And you can see the route it took to get there very simple easy and understandable.
The app is basic and flaky

I purchased the SPOT Trace a week ago and put it on my boat. I was getting email alerts frequently because I didn't enable dock mode since I haven't wired this into power on the boat and didn't want to kill the batteries. I was ok with some false positives to know the device was in the right place. A week after installing the device I got one alert in the morning then nothing after that. I had gone and taken the boat out and expected I'd receive tracking alerts via text/email. Nothing came in. I relocated the boat and still nothing after sitting. I went to the marina and the device was powered on. I cycled power and went home. One alert came in. I then opened the app and low and behold the alerts showed. The map however was a huge mess of points as opposed to just the location of the alert. The app and the service need work. Example, I expected to be able to set mobile alerts and couldn't find the setting figuring it'd be one global setting. Nope, you have to add your mobile to EACH TYPE OF ALERT YOU WANT.Seriously disappointed in the device and the service. I need reliable notifications or this is useless to me.
iOS 17 compatibility.
Bug fixes and performance improvements.
