UPDATE: I was SUPER EXCITED about this app based on reviews and results, BUT...

REVIEW UPDATE - 8.4.18: After some back and forth with the 8Fit Help Desk/Support Team, my issues have been resolved and I am SUPER pleased with this app! I am very impressed with 8Fit’s follow-through in resolving my issues and making sure that I am pleased. Good Customer Service goes SO far in an age of auto-responses and scripted apologies and I appreciate I that you took the time to change my mind. :) Now that I have been able to use it, 8Fit makes meal-planning super easy. I DO wish there were a way to account for snacks/meals consumed that aren’t part of the meal plan, but maybe that’s something that can be worked out in the future. The workouts are straight forward and easy to follow, and I appreciate the options to easily change your fitness level if needed. This is a great app for those who are trying to get back into shape and require structure. Thanks again!I am on the 3rd day of my 14-Day Trial and have yet to use the app. After 3 days of Help Desk/Support correspondence to sort out a log in issue I was having, I have just tried to set up my profile to get started only to have one of the “buttons” to select my workout program be non-responsive. So I am now emailing the Help Desk *again. SMH I am operating iOS 11.4.1. I have never had this much trouble with an app and it is very frustrating. I am hoping this new issue will not take another 3 days to sort out. There isn’t much value in a 14-Day Trial if half of it is spent waiting for delayed responses via email when a 10-minute phone call could likely handle these issues. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I started out wanting to use the app for the workouts. What I found was so much more than I was prepared for. I’ve used the meal planning far more than the exercises and am able to log in my exercises outside of what I have utilized on the app. Being that I am far sighted, the only complaint I have is that the app is no longer viewable on the laptop and I can only see the recipes and workouts on my iPhone. This makes it harder for me to see and read. The workouts are seriously awesome, although the yoga is not my favorite and I have been doing yoga for 20 years now so I have had a lot of instruction. I am combining this platform with other workouts to provide myself an experience that works for me, which would be much more difficult to accomplish without this app. I would use it just for the food. I’ve watched the recipe offerings and options increase dramatically over the last two years. I just wish that I could at least print them out or look at them on a larger screen so I could see them better. I guess I’m just older now and have a harder time than younger people.
A great little app but pricey

For the annual cost of this app I would want a little more. The actual program seems great, for me I know enough about how my body responds that I could replace a gym membership with this. And it also offers meal plans. I think everything is a bit more like guides than an actual ‘plan’. Just like with anything, you have to factor in what you know works for your body and your lifestyle but the program is highly adaptable so it should work for almost anyone. That being said, for the money I would want a little more. You can’t put in health conditions, like I have bad knees but there are no modified exercise options and they have me doing a ton of lunges. Ouch. There’s also no charts for your weight, measurements, etc... that’s just a personal preference, but seeing the line move down closer to my goal weight has always been the biggest motivator for me. So yeah, it’s great, a little basic but the workouts will make you sweat and the food options look very tasty and you can customize how often you repeat a meal. For someone like me who eats basically the same thing all week to cut down on costs, that’s a big plus. When my free trial ends I am seriously considering cancelling my gym membership and forking our the money for the app. Just a few tweaks would make it perfect in my opinion.
Usefulness replaced by greed

Like most other recent reviewers, I have been a long time user - up until now. Common app model with the basic workouts free and enhanced nutrition and planning mechanics in the upgrade plan for those that need them. Usual pop-ups and weekly invitations to join the Pro program, which while slightly annoying were par for the course with this type of model. Unlike most other workout apps, there is a coherent weekly/unit plan stressing different energy systems and this is a clear two steps up on most of the random collections of workouts that pass for a fitness app. Not perfect and some mistakes remained even after reporting (90 sec max sprints for raw beginners) but still better than most other apps. Now in the middle of the 2020 health crisis they decide to replace the existing system with a full subscriber model to the $25/mo plan or blindly cough up $80 for a year. My gym membership is $25 a month and offers far more than this app ever can. Of course, it was just forced to close again and I do not think the timing is coincidental with the change in financial model. You can call that view cynical, but it is not possible this was not thoroughly discussed. The normal model would be to invite users to try for free as the New Year rolls in and resolve is high, then shift to a pay model once committed. The $25 per month is ludicrous. No one is going to pay it and begrudgingly opt for the full year instead. Surely that was always the intent. Mine is to delete the app after I submit this.
You know the drill, update time! Bugs have been fixed and your 8fit experience just got even better.
