So first of all I just don’t write reviews. But I just had to do it because the app deserves it. It’s really good. Second I was skeptical about the services they provide. I didn’t know much. But once I found out more and signed up for it, it’s what they advertise. It is tv a la carte. I signed up for the Spanish channels and I even get an Argentinian channel I can’t get anywhere else. When it comes the app, it is flawless. It simply never crashes. Regardless of what channel I watch it always comes up without any problems. Once you choose the channel, you have to option to watch the program that’s on form the start, to start it over, or to watch it live. Once you stop watching, you can always come back to the same spot. It saves your programs so you can come back later and pick right up where you left off. You can do that with countless shows. You can also watch from a different source. If I’m watching on my phone, and stop watching, I can watch from the iPad or the Apple TV app and watch it also without any problems. Tv quality is fantastic too. You also don’t have to sing on every single time. I haven’t to sing in or log in since I first logged in months ago. This service along with the apps in the different platforms are simply seamless. It’s really one of the best, if not the best I have on all platforms. It’s literally fantastic. 10/10.
I’m a huge fan but there are some big areas for improvement
Zach F.
In general I have been VERY impressed with Sling. I never get any buffering and switching channels is nearly instant, faster than my old traditional cable box and even some other OTT services. However, there are a few pain points I’ve experienced on the iPad app and a minor one with the Apple TV app. With the Apple TV app if you have the app in the top line of your grid you get a preview list of relevant and/or recent channels you can jump right into, the only issue is that while you get the cover image of the show and the name you don’t know what channel you’re selecting until you do so. Not a big deal but very annoying, and this is also an issue on the main screen once you open the app on any platform. On the Apple TV app you can change the order and sorting of the grid guide in a few different ways which makes channel surfing much easier, but there aren’t as many options on the iPad/iPhone. I generally keep my channels in the alphabetical list but that isn’t how the iPad/iPhone app organizes them and I generally cant figure out if its category or not. Plus the Picture in Picture option doesn’t always want to work and doesn’t always show up. That’s an easy fix by fully closing out of the app and opening it again but if you had paused a show you lose your time buffer which can be very frustrating. All in all I am very happy to subscribe to Sling but have found a few areas that need some work for the platform to be completely perfect.
Best TV App for Seniors Ever!

I don’t ever write reviews but, SLING TV is such a great app, I had to make an exception! I am a senior living on a fixed income and far enough out in the country that regular cable was not an option. So, when I went looking for a good, dependable, and reasonably priced replacement for expensive satellite television, I was afraid I would never find an app that would meet all of my needs. Then, I found Sling TV! Just imagine how surprised I was when I learned that not only was Sling TV a totally dependable television app but, they offer an incredible amount of channels in each package, (yes, and you even have a choice of mixing and matching your packages)! And, as if all that wasn’t enough, Sling TV’s pricing is so reasonable that practically anyone can afford a package! So, even on my income I have access to many of my favorite channels like, the History Channel, the Travel Channel, all three channels of ESPN, and more! For me, it really was an incredible find and I even downloaded the app to my smartphone so that I can watch my favorite shows even when I’m sitting in my doctor’s waiting area! I’ve been a Sling TV customer for nearly two years now and I still can hardly believe how fortunate I was to have come across the app in the App Store! And, to you guys at Sling TV, I’d just like to say, thank you for offering such a great app that does exactly what you say it does, offer great TV at a great price! Also, I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated all the extra channels you have been giving us for free during the COVID-19 crisis. In my book, that goes above and beyond the call of duty! Thanks so much, Sling TV. You have a life-long customer in me!
Less expensive, yes, but also less convenient

Sling TV works well most of the time, but not all of the time. When you first start the app, weather on TV or on a mobile device, its layout is rather clunky. When you find a station or network you like, there is no obvious way (at least that I found) to “favorite” it, making it much equally hard to find the next time you start the app. Instead, I find myself every time having to endure an extended process of scrolling and scrolling and scrolling until I find the station I want. Once I’ve found it, it’s usually a pretty easy process of getting it going. However, at least on the TV version of the app (which I use both on AppleTV and Roku), the streaming sometimes just stops and the screen goes black, with a little circular thingie going around and around and around. I’ve waited for this to resolve itself, and when it doesn’t, I finally find myself having to back all the way out of the Sling app so I can restart it again, and scroll and scroll and scroll - horizontally, mind you, not vertically the way I’m used to with my former cable TVs interface - until I once again find my station and can restart it. If Sling could produce a more intuitive, more user friendly app interface, that would go a long way to convincing me to raise my rating up from two stars out of five. All this said, I am now paying $40 per month for TV service versus the $100 per month I was paying before. It’s been an acceptable, if in my opinion, an unnecessary and unfortunate trade off.
This release includes a small number of minor performance and stability improvements to enhance your overall experience. We've also addressed several issues to ensure the app runs more smoothly and reliably.
