The app itself works flawlessly. Looking through all the auctions is addictive. Very handy shipping estimator. Easy payment system. The 5 minute extension to bidding makes total sense once you think about it and actually read through the rules & regs but can be a bit of an unpleasant surprise to new users as most of us don’t actually read all the fine print—I certainly didn’t. As this is the place where we’re really supposed to be commenting on app functionality, I suppose I should stop here. However, I’m sure people want to know how things work after you win the auction. I’ve purchased three items. Two were shipped promptly, one didn’t ship until I inquired what happened nearly three weeks after purchase. I sent my inquiry via email and never heard back directly, but the very next day I noticed when I logged in that the pkg status had changed. I think they need a little customer service improvement in that area. Of the 2 items received one was packed well, the other was a shave mirror and poorly packed. I’m surprised it didn’t break. Overall, EBTH is a fun place to find unique items. Going forward, though, I’ll proceed with a pinch of hesitation depending on type of item purchased & if I feel willing to track down items that should be shipped more promptly.

I absolutely love this authentic auction app. They have stated so consistent with app layout and ease of biding simple and wonderful display of items. Everything I have purchased has been exactly as pictured the only reason I don’t purchase more from this site is due to the outrageous shipping cost even of smaller items. I understand why some items have higher shipping costs but I pass on a lot of smaller items and limit my bids due to the shipping cost of items which is outrageous. I also wish there where more of these places for pick up other than Ohio if they where in Charlotte Nc this app would be the best thing ever. But it’s tough to drive to Ohio for all these purchases. If they switched it up it would be amazing!

App itself is very good, reliable and auctioned products are unique. But products can only be picked up in Columbus or Cincinnati and shipping cost for large items is extremely expensive. The wear houses are now closed due to COVID, a fact that is not at all communicated on the app, but not until you see your emailed invoice. But the most aggravating thing however as a buyer is that items being sold are often in less than good shape, which is OK, but they sell at a price more skin to much higher quality. Too often descriptions lack necessary information with no way to ask questions. Photos are similarly lacking and inconsistent. Personal items such as designer clothes and handbags are particularly lacking in descriptions, measurement, fabric and sizing info without photos of the garment back, lining, or bag interior. But other items are also lacking critical details. Pearl necklaces don’t mention luster - an easy item for a gemologist, but since pearls they offer have low luster, they conveniently don’t provide this information. But when they have very good luster, you can bet that information is there - so much for the independence of the gemologist. Measurement of necklace and bracelets i learned include the closure which is not stated anywhere and counter to standard practice. Communication of a new policy where they charge an additional % premium for purchases by credit card vs bank card was extremely lacking. So combine that charge with shipping + tax and paying top dollar on the item, you are better off taking your chances on eBay.

I bid on jewelry and watches and had great success with first bid on diamond stud earrings. The information on the earrings was great. I could see that the color and clarity of the stones were easy to see due to the photos provided. My bid was extremely low and I have been extremely happy with my purchase. But then I had a message on my account when I tried to sign in stating that I needed to contact customer service. The only option was to contact them by email and so I responded with a detailed email and received the worst response to an alert that I received from the company. I did some digging online and found customer service number and called them and explained my situation and that I wanted to participate in other auctions but was unable and the only explanation I got over the phone was that a specific person was dealing with my case and they were going to pass the message along to them about returning my phone call so I could update my payment method and bid on some pieces of jewelry on auctions that were ending within 48 hours. I have yet to hear from anyone and I cannot sign in or place any bids and this has been going on for 5 years!! Seriously! If I had done anything that would cause this company to place an alert on my account preventing me from bidding on items and still after 5 years they cannot communicate with me as to why I would be omitted from making a purchase then they obviously believe I am nefarious and my account should have some kind of information about exactly what happened but they would not do anything but tell me someone would be getting back with me! I really loved the ease of bidding and purchasing process and extremely happy with my purchase. I just can’t get an answer on why I can’t bid on anything else.
