This app can be great, and some of the sellers are really on top of it, and they get your item shipped to you right away. But the majority of them take FOREVER to ship, if they even ever ship the items out! It’s not uncommon to receive items 6-8 weeks after the auction. And the one auction I really wanted to win, it looked like I had won, I submitted my $2200 bid, and somebody else submitted a bid for the SAME AMOUNT RIGHT AFTER MINE, and somehow they won. Contacted the seller, no response whatsoever. Contacted support for the app and finally got a response, that there was some kind log tech glitch? I think it was rigged, it was for a $10,000 ring. I’ve had several items that haven’t shown up at all and the seller isn’t responsive to my contacts. You can find great deals sometimes but you really have to look every other day $ you have to accept the risk that you’ll never get the items you paid for. The 3 great sellers one here are the reason I keep shopping. The rest of them act like they’re doing you, the buyer, a favor and they’ve got no time for politeness.

So we updated the app. Cool. But it’s still SO BAD. First, can’t zoom when on the main feed page, it does a weird center thing OR it clicks and opens a listing. Second, you all removed the city location of the item from the main feed listing, so do you want less sales? Like make it make sense. Third, allow for scrolling through photos on the main feed without opening the listing item. And fix the “click on photo to enlarge” bc that is ….. stupid. Four, stop making me login every 15 minutes if I click “KEEP ME LOGGED IN.” Fifth, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY STOP SENDING ME EMAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now adding sixth, when making a winning bid - you don’t even know if you’re winning 😂😂😂 like men had to have designed this. I already know it was men. Seventh, notifications don’t work. If you literally click on the bell icon, nothing happens. So if you manually go to notifications on the webpage (not the app bc there isn’t one!! Go figure!!) it will say SMS notifications are turned on but they are not. So you won’t get a notification if you’re outbid.

I've used the app for a year and a half and never had this particular problem before. It use to be that any time you bid on an item you were automatically added to that sellers email distribution list. Annoying as there was no way to opt out until their email hits your inbox and you can then unsuscribe.However this changed back in December 2025. I bid on only a few items from 2 or 3 sellers and somehow got signed up for every single sellers email list. I have been getting multiple emails a day and no amount of unsubscribing makes them stop. From December 23rd until this morning January 14th I have received 55 emails for new and ending auctions that I never signed up for. And they. Just. Don't. Stop.Not only does this particular issue need to be fixed, but people should have never been automatically signed up for emails just by bidding on an auction to begin with. There is no user setting you can turn off in the user account settings. The marketing email checkbox in my user preferences section has not been checked for over a year and I'm still getting the emails every time I bid.Edit: received 58 emails. I received 3 more within 30 minuets of writing this review.

I recently placed a $3 bid on an item through CTBids and attempted to cancel it well before the auction ended. I fully understand that bids are binding, which is why I reached out in advance to request assistance. I was told to simply wait and see if I’d be outbid.Ultimately, I won the item and was charged $9—triple the original bid. When I followed up to resolve the issue, I was met with hostility from a staff member named Sherry at the Sandy, UT location. Rather than assisting professionally, she accused me of having done this before (which is untrue—I’ve only participated in one other auction), threatened to ban me from the local site and the entire CTBids platform, and even made an inappropriate comment minimizing my financial concerns by saying she doesn't make much money working there either. This level of unprofessionalism and condescension is unacceptable. My previous experience with CTBids was smooth and courteous, which makes this interaction even more disappointing. A single $3 bid turned into a $9 charge, a double ban threat, and a personal insult.I’m leaving this review to inform others and to urge CTBids to review how staff like Sherry handle customer interactions. I expected respect and fair treatment—and received the opposite.
