I have been bidding on items for a couple years now. For the most part I have gotten really good items. There is a learning curve to the bidding. You have to understand what the fees are on top of the bid price. They do offer “insurance “ as an option. Which I do use if the item is electric or expensive. You need to pay attention to what store you are bidding at and if the items are able to transfer to the store near you. Don’t get caught up in the bidding wars because next thing you know the item is way over bid. It’s easy to use the app to get in and out of the stores too. I have only had really nice experiences with the employees. They explain everything so one can understand how it all works. The only negative I can say about the business is I wish sometimes there were better pictures of the items up for bid. But they do offer for anyone that wants to check out an item to do so before bidding.
Great potential

I know this is probably biased but I just think there should be a way to make the app for people and families that couldn't afford the actual product or even the product half price. It really is crushing when you spend days thinking you are winning a bid for such a great price for something you or your child could never even dream of owning, only to have someone bid and bid and bid into the $100s in the last 5 minutes. Other than that, the only major problem is the lack of customer service via email or phone. And when I say lack I mean ZERO. I have had a (what I presume to be a lost package) and I have emailed over a week ago and all I get is thank you for your email we are working on responding. And there are no phone numbers or customer service representatives to chat with or call so they simply tell you to drive down to a warehouse. My closest warehouse is 15 minutes away and I don't have a car. Again, I love the POTENTIAL of this app and I will continue to use it but it can be very difficult for people that are trying to find a good price on something, not 3/4 the price or more after days and days of waiting and believing you might have some chance of success with an item for a price you can actually afford. Maybe a discount on shipping or lot fees or something for people with government financial assistance?
Ongoing dishonesty, and misleading descriptions
romirslav
They are very dishonest, a lot of products that they know that it’s damaged, or broken, or simply not turning on, and they still sell them. I had this experience where I bought a cart to put my tools on while I work mechanics, and the cart came broken, missing screws, and missing a leg, I of course bought it with an insurance so I was able to return it, but I spent 15 dollars on insurance and they keep that, and then the day after I saw the exact same cart being sold again and in the description it only said open box, of course having a lot of possibilities of being broken, damaged, etc. I feel like that’s their way of getting away with it because, if they say that it doesn’t work then people will buy it for less or not buy it at all, but in reality they are making us waste money on returns since they want to not be completely honest about the product they’re selling, that they know it keeps getting returned because it does not work. And people’s best bet is to buy with the insurance so you are able to return just in case but that’s their whole deal. They keep on selling the same product that they know it’s damaged, and people buy it with insurance so when it’s time to return it, their profit is the 15 dollars that goes to insuring the product. And well it’s just an ongoing loop of returning and reselling products they know DO NOT work. This is a multi-million company and I fear the least they could do is be honest about what they’re selling
Decent System

It’s a good system and you can get some really good deals. The down side is that there are a lot of broken items and a lot of items that have missing parts or components. I was looking for a set of luggage as a gift. I bought a set of three and the two smaller pieces were missing. I bought another set and it had grease all over it and some damage. Thankfully this set was listed as like new and I was able to return it on the spot. I had to buy several sets before I got a complete set that was in perfect condition. That being said, it is much safer buying items that are listed as “Like New”. If it’s an expensive “open box” item you should buy the insurance so you have the ability to return the item if you get it home and there is a problem. The warehouses are designed well but the isles get too narrow because of so many boxes protruding into the walk space. A lot of times you can’t take a cart down an isle because there isn’t enough room to make it through. The employees are usually very nice. Unfortunately I did have my account hacked and someone put a high bid on a small item. The manager on duty could care less and said I was responsible for the purchase even after I could show that I discovered it and changed my password before the item auction was done. MacBid needs a better system for resolving fraudulent activity. There have been several times that the MacBid app wasn’t working properly. When it works it is a good system. Even now, writing this review, it put this long and garbled word as my “Nickname” and everything I try to change it to is “already taken”. So I am leaving the ridiculous word.
