I’ve been using the app for about a year now and it does make tracking upcoming bills easier. I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to be so hands-on with them, but each week I have to go through and make sure everything is accurate. Usually half of my upcoming bills/paydays are right but I definitely need to edit the day something with credit or debit my account. It seems like when I categorize an expense as a monthly occurrence on the 1st, then the app tells it to occur again in 30 days (the 31st) which makes things incorrect an awful lot seeing as not every month is only 30 days long. March is always a rough month for when bills will occur since there’s only 28 days in February and it’s running on a 30 day countdown to the next bill. My absolute biggest frustration with the app however is the payday scheduling. I don’t work a usual 9-5 with the same amount of money coming to me every Friday. It’s extremely hard to plan correctly and I end up having to rely on my phone’s calendar because you can’t add an upcoming payday amount manually. If only I could do that then this app would be soooo much more useful but instead it’s a job planning what I’ll have when and what bill hits before or after it. This request has been put into the app’s suggestions & requests tab by so many and they just don’t listen to what we want. It’s an okay app but it seriously needs work and won’t be as useful as you think if you’re somewhat disorganized with your bills & income.

I have had an endless number of budget apps throughout my years and everytime I download one it is just missing something that would make it perfect. Rocket Money is the first app I’ve used that gets everything right. I can split purchases, make my own categories, share with my husband, ignore transactions, get spending reports, create a budget that shows my savings, and tracks my subscriptions. Not to mention their customer service is fantastic. They’re always quick to respond and happy to help. I paid for this app last year and ended up cancelling only because I was stressed and practically deleted everything on my phone. When I got back into the swing of things and started paying attention to our budget again, I immediately thought of Rocket Money. Seriously, the app makes my life so easy. I have used the lower my bill option and it worked great.I prefer to cancel subscriptions on my own but the fact that that’s an option is really fantastic. When I first downloaded the app last year I found like $50 a month going towards subscriptions I thought I’d canceled. Getting rid of those felt like a little pay raise. Thanks for getting it right Rocket Money.

Your app is cool as far as the dashboard & quick looks at what’s coming & going in my finances. However, most of the stuff you highlight on your commercials isn’t free. I like you have the option to pick what I think is fair to charge for the premium, but the premium doesn’t include the cost of the “lower my bills” feature, that is an extra charge & that is what is going to make me go broke! I tried to use that feature with my cable, utilities and car insurance and your app couldn’t connect with those services at all, there was some kind issue, but I’m glad it didn’t! Your app was able to connect with my cell carrier and I got an email from you saying “congratulations we were able to lower your bill by $250 annually you’ll see the difference in 1-2 billing cycles!” Followed by, “the 30% you chose to pay us comes to $75 and we can set it up to pay in 2 days or we can get you on a payment plan.” Well, since I know it also shows up on your app that I had some emergency medical bills that is going to overdraw my bank account in 6 days, I’m going to have to! Now I have an extra $18 new expense to pay to you guys for a cell bill lowered by $20, so all in all the only ‘lowered amount I got from all this was a whopping $2!!! This REALLY did not help me, I’d save more if I just cut back on any snacks I’d buy at the store. Seeing the bill I now owe you was SO MUCH MORE STRESSFUL than the $2 relief you saved me. IMO your service is going to cost me more money and stress than I could ever afford and I’m very disappointed, I wish I never got your app in the first place!
