I’ve been lifting consistently for over 20 years, from bodybuilding to powerlifting, kettlebell sport to hiit. It’s a safe assumption as a lifting tech exec to say I’ve played with a number of apps…and I have.So far Alpha Progression pro has impressed me the most. It’s completely replaced my need for a notebook in the gym, not just for the set/weight/rep tracking, but also because the periodization baked into the targeting algorithm is designed to have you hitting mini PRs throughout your mesocycle. We often get hung up on just increasing weight but it’s smart enough to recommend and reward you for those minor rep PRs, the volume PRs, the muscle group volume and load PRs, in addition to the coveted weight PRs.The other aspect I really like is the premade plans are pretty good out of the gate. To give it a fair evaluation I used a defaulted 6x/week PPL plan and it was really well done. Based on how it was progressing I’ve already built out my next 6 mesocycles for hypertrophy, strength, massing, maintenance, and cutting phases. I’m excited to see where I’ll be app while using the app because I know even when I’m not performing the way I want on a certain weight it’ll help to get me over the hump.
