The 511PA app provides near real-time highway and traffic information to drivers to help them safely plan their route. This includes information on roadwork, incidents, road closures, and weather alerts on roads across the state. This app features a scrollable, zoomable map that displays: • Traffic speeds • Road Conditions • Weather Restrictions • Updated PennDOT snowplow locations (Track My Plow) • Incidents and closures, such as collisions and other road hazards • Cameras • Roadwork • Message Signs • PennDOT Bridges • PA Turnpike Information • And many other info layers! The app also features audio alerts that notify drivers of all the types of events listed above and more! Drivers can customize their alert experience and configure the app to their preferences, including being able to only receive alerts that apply to their chosen route.

I do not like the new version

The previous version had everything I needed at my fingertips. If I wanted to use GPS, I would still use my previous map apps. I really liked having the camera or in the old version. And heaven‘s name would I need to go online to go look at it and it’s not even saved!

I’m not sure what the point of this app is actually. Maybe collect data on us? I was looking for something to get quick info along the PA Turnpike. It was far from that. Actually I never got the info I needed until I saw the road sign. This app just drives you to a website that is clunky at best. The app has no use beyond that. Both the app and website need to be removed and started over. Total government waste!!

I preferred version 3.0. 3.1 is too busy with all the circled numbers. What I dislike the most is trying to see the speeds on the roads. The colors are not bold or wide enough like in 3.0. When zooming in, they’re still not wide enough, then eventually zooming in too much makes all the road speed colors go away. This is one of the most important parts of this app and now it’s really lacking in that department.I do like having the camera icons right there on the map (if enabled) but half the time they do not have streaming video, just a non-responsive picture.Currently using an iPhone 11 ProMax with ios 17.5.1.

When they first came out with this app it was as easy to hop on and check it quit .. Now it takes more time than it’s worth .. I wish they would put the search back where you could type in state college and all the cameras popped up or I -99 but now you type it in and it takes you to places your not near or try to find
