Free, Simple, No Ads

I’m new to barbell lifting or 5x5 workout, but I’ve used the app for my first week and am definitely happy with it. Very basic/spartan app but it is very easy to use, has no ads, and is free. To start, you either pick workout A or B (it keeps track of which workout you should select). Then you enter your weight for the three exercises in workout and you just press the plus button after each set is complete to track your 5 sets. It tracks your weight so the next workout will automatically have the weight you completed in the last workout showing. It’s very easy to change the weight if your are adding weight. Also has a graph to track your weights over time and an alert for resting between each set (I don’t use this but others may find it useful).

Also, the app doesn’t ask for any personal info or location tracking whatsoever, which seems rare nowadays.

Just started this workout regimen and honestly have enjoyed it quite a bit. It’s perfect for someone like myself that doesn’t have time for complicated and time consuming workouts. Great for getting back into the routine after a comically long rest period.

Good for tracking!

I’m not new to weightlifting, but wanted to try a new program, so I decided to try 5X5 and downloaded this version of it since it looked simple and free and had good reviews. It’s not super detailed with instructions, so you do have to know what goes into the program (easy to find online!) so it might not be great for new lifters looking for everything to be outlined for them, but I personally like and prefer that it’s more of a “tracker” as I enjoy writing my workouts down in a journal. This is more of a tracker and timer than an in-depth explanation of how to use this program. The reason I gave it 4 stars is it’s a little glitchy so hopefully that will improve over time.
