Keep track of your Beeminder goals, add data, and get push notifications before derailing with the Beeminder iPhone app.
Beeminder is goal-tracking with teeth. We plot your progress on a yellow brick road to your goal and if you go off track we take your money!
The Beeminder app also allows you to sync goals with your Apple Health data, so you can automatically track steps, distance, and other metrics without manually entering data.
Bug fix (for real this time): the intermittent blank white screen is, we believe, vanquished for good.
Bug fix: for entering datapoints > 1000 (i.e., with a comma in US-style notation), the app no longer switches said comma to a decimal point
Bug fix: if you delete a datapoint, the datapoint now immediately disappears from the list of datapoints under the graph
Bug fix: similarly, if you edit a datapoint, the datapoint under the graph is now immediately updated. Furthermore, the value in the data entry field changes to reflect the edit.
Improvement: if a background fetch fails, there is no longer an alert ("Error fetching goals") waiting for you when you return to the app.
Improvement: we now prompt you to turn on notifications when switching to a new device or on a reinstall of the app, if necessary.

Don’t use any of the automatic integrations
I tried beeminder with two of three automatic syncs: Fitbit, apple health, and habitica. I had nothing but problems with all three including false derailments because Fitbit didn’t update the information correctly until after midnight. The manual entries worked fine but you have to baby sit the app if you try to use anything else.
Works well, does what it says, better than also rand, surprisingly
I’ve used beeminder off and on for years. I’ve just read existing reviews, and agree w the good ones. The ones stating problems are not my experience of the app, and I’d encourage others that—having experienced using this service on computers and multiple iPhones and iOS progressions—the problems seem idiosyncratic (as in not generalized).
Particularly since any time I had problems, I found the beeminder team responsive. And always wanting to be fair.
Ultimately it has a lot to do with what you put into it. But it’s an effective commitment device. And no one explains Akrasia like the beeminder videos. Helpful!
What prompted me to finally write a review was my surprise at finding beeminder’s interface (admittedly basic in graphics) superior to perhaps better known app of StickK, which I’ve just been using this go round.
While the graphics are basic, the services and info at beeminder are better imo.
Hope this helps you choose an app to fight off the akrasia zone.
Beeminder is the premiere power tool for accomplishing goals
Before Beeminder, I only knew how to program computers and climb trees. I used Beeminder to finally learn Chinese, write a book, get in shape, build my business, create a personal website, start flossing, and learn to longboard! And twenty other things! I even used it to marry my wife. Thanks, Beeminder!
