Firmware updates not compatible with Mac

While BIT ELD has an app for iPhone and iPad, the ELD firmware updates must be done using a Windows computer. You will NOT be able to make updates to the ELD firmware using a Mac computer. There is no information about this on their website. They do not automatically send out firmware updates either. You will not know you need it until you experience problems and call in for technical support.

Terrible ELD

As a carrier this is the worst example of an ELD currently. I have reached out about inaccuracies and faults in the programming to have it fixed and just get lip service. I had an issue with split sleeper and Blue Ink told me splits don’t carry past the 24hr mark or into the next day….lie. They add restrictions to your own logbook for your “protection” but my logbook is my responsibility. I have called for support. No call back. You never make a resolution to the carrier. The last split sleeper problem and HOS issue your own ELD HOS expert had it wrong. I sent my logs to a DOT officer and you still told me my logs were wrong and the DOT Officer was wrong. I asked for a call back and yet again no response. I’m glad I don’t pay a monthly subscription but I wasted my time and money on the equipment.

Easy peasy

I am a hotshot driver and I put off the ELD as long as I could just cause I thought it would be a nightmare, with blue ink it was super easy and affordable. The customer service and the prompt attention to my 1 and only issue was dealt with and rectified in a timely manner. The personnel attention to my issue and the follow up to make sure it was fixed made me a believer in the customer comes first.
