Found out about this app because I'm a longtime user of one of the developers other apps (ColorSlurp, which is also quite elegant). I'm not exactly what you'd call a power user whe it comes to taking notes, but I do need to be able to. Breveto strikes a nice balance between simplicity/ease of use and still having all the tools one would need and expect. I've used some apps that look nice and clean, but are also functionally too limited. Breveto has a slick UI, but the tools are still there. My only recommendations would be an integration with the menu bar for quick/always-on access... and for bullet items in lists to remain indented even when an item wraps to a second line (currently, text wrapping to a second line in a bullet list isn't indented — it's flush with the bullet itself). The latter might seem minor/petty, but as a designer, it's the kind of thing that irritates a little. Overall a great app, though — certainly no qualms about getting the Pro subscription.
Could be a contender!

Breveto could be great … IF they would update it where there was an actual import function in the file menu. Also it needs more file export versions (like Docx, etc). The AI portion is limited on how much it will let you use it. Preview of export would be great. Other than that Breveto holds promise. But it hasn’t been updated in over a year, so I hope thet’s not a sign of abandonment!
YOU NEED THIS BREVETO WRITING APP
this is my Spahr Review
Very nice writing app. Most professional app I've ever worked with; that's for sure. And that's just from its free version. Just imagine how much more would advance my writing aspirations if I'd take it to the next level by going Pro. Some of us might need a miracle in order to upgrade to the Pro addition. But trust me when I say, you will be glad you at least tried the Free version. I know for me, while I very much like what I have to work with now; I'd very much like to level up to Pro. By the way, For the not-so-advanced wordsmiths; this Breveto writing app will most definitely level up your intelligence bar since it also sports a built-in Dictionary Highly Specific Strategic Formating for added support, along with a library style Sidebar to keep all your writings organized and at the ready for any revision/edits plus a Share button for posting to your personal media. All this plus Settings to your personal requirements in the Free-mode(?) Just imagine how much more is available in Pro-mode to enhance your writing productivities and widen your world; even ushuring you into a world of professionalism you could only dream of before. To be sure, you will most definitely find yourself pleasantly surprised as you engage with Breveto. I am very glad I discovered this Breveto writing app. The fact that Breveto also levels you up personally, by adding an integrated Dictionary Highly Specific Strategic Formating - is beyond what I can even put to words. That's how impressed I am with Breveto. And that's just in its Free-mode. So I can hardly wait till I'm able to take Breveto Pro. :0).
Fantastic note app especially for writers
iOSBliss
The focus on drag and drop bring back the old school feel of when I got my first Mac. So much more organic and satisfying than trying to use hashtags to organize your notes — which also clutter up your content and have to be removed if you are publishing your work. Also themes are first rate and customizable. Much more fun to write when you can set the look and feel of the app to your liking. Pluses:- Stunning, clear UI- Beautifully colored themes to choose from- Full screen editing — hides status bar for better focus. - Callback URLs (deep links to notes) — makes it easy to connect related information across notes and workspaces- Nested folders- Drag and drop paradise to arrange files and folders — can even drag notes to the trash bin!- Note find and replace on iOS!Wishes:- Discrete comments field in the info panel for adding notes to notes — within the note you are working on. Useful for jotting down thoughts or possible changes to the document that are separate from the content itself. - Be able to edit the creation date and time would be useful for journaling and back dating notes copied from other apps.- Paste note title when pasting a deep link into another note/file. Even better if we could search and link to other notes within workspace in one step (autocomplete like Bear and NotePlan). - Option to export folder as one file. Useful for arranging chapters in a book that you want to compile for publishing. - Simple Watch app that could sync your pinned notes for always having them on your wrist. 🤞- Calender view would make Breveto even better for journaling. Where you could see a timeline of your notes by day, week, month, etc. Excellent work on the iOS version. It has been a long time since I felt this good about a note app, and one I feel confident to trust my years of writing in. Now the journey begins of moving stuff in, so my notes can have the beautiful and comfy home I’ve long been looking for. Thank you.
This update adds inter-document links and polishes up some of Breveto's other features!
• Document Links — Type @ or [[ anywhere in your document to link to another file.
• Slash Commands — Breveto now optionally supports slash commands, which you can enable in the editor settings.
• Edit Image Alt Text — Add and edit an image's alt text from the floating menu when you click an image.
• Automatic Headings — Breveto automatically adds a heading to new files when you rename them. This can be turned off in the general settings.
• Automatic Matching Brackets — Breveto intelligently adds matching brackets when typing an opening bracket like {, [, or (.
## IMPROVEMENTS
• Right-click (or long-press) one or more files and click "Move To" to move them to a specific folder or workspace.
• You can now turn on automatic to-do list sorting in the editor settings.
• Navigate spellcheck suggestions with Control + P or Control + N.
• Typing ~= or (deg) now auto-completes to ≈ and ∘.
• Improved the floating menu animations and design.
• The New File button on Mac can now be dragged to create a new file, just like on iOS.
• Customize the heading font separately from the editor's font.
• Customize Breveto's font weight and letter spacing.
• Pressing delete at the start of a blockquote now deletes the blockquote, instead of combining the blockquote content with the previous content.
• If you have a link in your clipboard when clicking the link button, it now automatically pastes the link into the link editor.
