Ratings and Reviews
Poor Functionality
The app freezes often and many times I have difficulties turning the pages. There is no function for a Table of Contents use (which I have on Kindle for books in the same series as the ones purchased for this app). For example, I could not jump from a beginning chapter of a commentary to studying, say, Chapter 6 of that Bible book without turning every page of the commentary quite a number of pages individually to the desired place. This is especially cumbersome if the book is long and/or the app is freezing.
This app needs a LOT of work
Trying to be Christian about this… but honestly, I just don’t see why this retailer has to require readers to use its own app, rather than a normal book reader app like Books on the iPad. The TOC links don’t even work. Imagine trying to scroll through the entire Bible trying to get to a reading when you’re in a study group. Guess you had better know what page Proverbs or Luke starts on, because you’re going to be dragging that page indicator until you find what you want.
I’ve been trying to avoid making Bezos any richer by buying books from that evil website, but I’m kind of regretting it now. At least when you download a book from the evil website, it opens in the evil website’s app and works. Come on, ChristianBook. Do better. Hire an actual coder. Fix this awful app, or open your downloads up for reading on other apps.
Terrible
This, unfortunately, is the poorest functioning app I have used. It lists every book as part of the Pentateuch. When you search it randomly jumps all over when you put in the chapter you want. When you try and scroll or change pages it sometimes jumps entire chapters. When you are able to capture the right chapter in a search it will randomly jump back to somewhere in the Old Testament. It is astounding to me that the creators of this app with a history of complaints against it have not fixed it. I am trying to use it for a Weirsbe commentary and it is incredibly inept. If anyone knows another reader I can use please advise. I would appreciate it.
