An amazing blessing in disguise

This app has brought me new meaning to friends and relationships and healthy relationships above all else. I’m not only met brand new people around the world, but I have met incredible people with stories that I can take with me and share with them what God can do in their life just like God has done in mine. God is a healer but it would sometimes do you feel completely it takes Peers. And I definitely found a great group. Thank you very much circles.
I also gave 100% of my time being a guide and helping other individuals through life experiences. It is such a joy to know that I have made an impact in someone’s liffe journey. I pray for the people on this website that they find healing through the blood of Jesus Christ

Experience With Circles

It seems that circles is intended as a way to connect with others dealing with issues similar to what you may be going through. I only used the app three times - listening in on a couple group talks and then participated in one group discussion on experiences of narcissistic abuse after which my account was promptly deactivated. This is a warning that although there is possibility to receive and give support - this does not replace an actual licensed therapist and I must say the moderators do not appear to be particularly qualified. The app is advertised as being an anonymous way to connect , but people can choose to follow you from the app on social media and direct message - so it is not really anonymous in the way a crisis text line or hotline is. It takes courage to share experiences and frankly this app does not replace in person support. The fact that as soon as I participated in sharing and was deactivated afterwards shows prejudice and insecurities on part of moderators ‘leading’ groups on this platform. My advice is to seek out a more qualified support by a licensed therapist from sites such as BetterHelp which offer sliding scale therapy. Even texting into a crisis text line is better option as a platform like this where people may be either discriminated against or judged is detrimental to those seriously seeking healing and recovery.

Roll the dice

Love the concept of this app, in reality not as professionally executed as I hoped especially for between a $15-$30 /month fee depending on the plan you choose. Though it was nice to have the group chat format- many groups are actually led by your peers and not professionals. Or, a “circles expert” which is actually not a licensed mental health professional but someone with “experience.” While the camaraderie of the group chats can be nice at times, at least just as many times I found groups to be the “Wild West” with little structure and lacked the boundaries a well qualified leader would provide. Also many examples of rampantly erroneous “recommendations” based on religious or personal beliefs propagated as fact - when these group leaders actually have no formal credentials in mental health. Though cheaper than therapy , there are plenty of free platforms or support groups to go on and share and get the same quality of content and opinions from lay or “experienced” people. I expected more from a paid service, and would rather not spend my hard earned money to roll the dice on whether I will learn something useful- or a poorly qualified group leader or attendee giving “advise” that serves little more than a soap box to their own personal experiences/opinions and /or religious beliefs.
