Description

CoSo is the AI-assisted music creation and sound discovery app that lets you follow your instincts and create in the moment. Whether you’re making unique music for your social posts or getting inspo for your next hit, CoSo is the app to bring instinctive creation to your fingertips.

Stop digging—start creating

CoSo listens to your track in real-time, then serves up Complementary Sounds that go together. With the "does this sound good together" out of the process, you can focus on letting your creative instincts lead you.

Instant inspiration
Create a Stack by choosing a style then add up to eight instrumental layers from across the Splice catalog—every selection is uniquely yours and destined to work.

Everything under your thumb
Swipe right to choose a new sound, swipe left to delete, tap a layer to mute it, and long-press to solo. Then mix using volume sliders per layer.

Save. Send. Share.
Send your stack to socials, save to your library, share with a friend, or export it to Ableton Live. You can also locate your sounds in the Splice library to use them in your DAW.

Surrender yourself to Splice

Alright, I’ll admit. I was skeptical to give this a try. I pay for a splice sounds membership at 100 credits a month. While I greatly appreciate the service and use it regularly, something about using pre made samples always gave me an internal argument. I was weary of CoSo being another high-tech money-grab that stunts the growth of true creativity. If you want to look at it that way, yes, it may insidious - but delightfully so. The sheer speed at which one can sketch new ideas is like nothing I’ve ever used before. I will always grapple with the idea of AI making my creative decisions for me. It encourages laziness. But at the end of the day we musicians are still in the driver’s seat. I think for the average splice user who uses loops as a source of inspiration or a sort of “jumping off” point, this app will ramp up those sketching workflows exponentially. I foresee increased spending of splice credits in my future, which might not be such a bad thing after all :)

Good App, Keep Improving It!

The design and layout of everything in the app itself is nice. The stacks are organized in a simple fashion, and creating them is efficient thanks to the design. However, my main complaint is that there is simply no way to export these stacks into a DAW. It’s great that we can share our creations through this app, but when will we get the ability to export the stacks into DAWs? I love this app, but personally I think it would work best alongside another program, such as a DAW.

Almost perfect!

Honestly, the Stacks feature is amazing and incredibly useful but two bugs might confuse or frustrate some users.

- if you lose internet connection an unsaved stack you are currently working on disappears and can’t be recovered

- if you save a stack, then hit the shuffle button to randomize a new set of loops, then exit and hit “discard changes”, tapping the “play” button of the newly saved stack will play back the new randomized set of loops that you thought you discarded

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much for the review and feedback! We will share these updates with our developers. Also, our updated Splice Mobile Sounds app has updates to the core CoSo functionality, which we are now calling Create. We recommend installing the Splice App to use the latest version!
