Description

The hallmark tool of the Count the Kicks public health campaign empowers expectant parents to track their babies’ movements daily in the third trimester of pregnancy. Research shows a change in fetal movement can be the earliest and sometimes only indication that a baby is in distress in utero.

Count the Kicks app features include:
• The ability to download and send kick counting data directly from the app
• Available in 10 languages: Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Hindi, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, and Vietnamese
• "Baby save" stories within the app and the ability for users to submit a baby save story directly from the app
• The ability to share kick session results directly on the users' social media page
• Login via social media or accounts such as Google or Microsoft
• Daily interactive and educational messages that appear after a kick session has been saved
• An optional finish survey for users to inform us of their experience using the app and the outcome of their pregnancy
• Notifications to remind users to count kicks, and reminders set for 24/48/72 hours and one week since last kick session

Saved my baby’s life

My last pregnancy was going great until the end. After a few days noticing it was taking longer to count my baby’s kicks with this app, I went in to get a fetal heart monitor check and immediately had to do an emergency c-section. Tracking with this app let me know something wasn’t right and I am forever thankful for it. Made by mamas for mamas! I tell all my new mom friends about it because of my first hand experience. Thank you so much for creating this!

Frustrating Glitch

I was tracking my baby’s movements for a month and a half, and then a few days ago I go to open my app and it has logged me out. I had used Facebook to create my account, so I attempted to log back in via Facebook. However this message came up:” Login failed. You can’t use Facebook to login to this app or device because there is an issue with the implementation of the Facebook login.”

I tried multiple times, even deleted and reloaded the app, but no success. So I had to create an entire new profile using my Google login, and I’ve lost nearly 1.5 months of data for my baby’s kicks. I’m disappointed by this - even if the issue is with FB and not Count the Kicks. I wish there was a way to just create a profile from scratch and not rely on some other platform like FB or Google to create an account.

We apologize for any inconvenience this caused you. We have since updated and improved our app and think you will find a much better experience. Your feedback is important to us and the idea of creating an account from scratch is great, we will look into this!

Awesome app, could be improved even more

I love the app. It is awesome. The only small thing I have that needs to be improved is being able to take back that last kick when you hit the button by mistake. It’s happened a few times, I must admit it is user error, but I think they could help us out. When my phone is low on battery, the auto lock gets decreased to 30 seconds. So I have to touch the screen to keep it on. Sometimes the kick gets registered, and it’s no problem to”undo last kick”. But, if you do it on that last one, the session ends and I’m not able to take it back. Other than that, this is the best app on the market for counting kicks.

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much for your review and your feedback! We are actually looking at updating the app to ensure users do have a chance to undo the last kick. That should be going out in our next update in a few months. Thank you for speaking up about it and letting us know!
