This software seems to be based entirely off of Apple Watch ECG feature of putting your finger on the crown for 30 seconds. During that time you have to be still, which means you can’t use it during heavy exercise. I was also under the impression Apple Watch couldn’t detect PVCs. So just how useful the ECG feature is on Apple Watch is still a mystery to me. I do own Apple Watch 9, and every usage of ECG says “this ecg doesn’t show any signs of…”.In contrast, hospital grade devices, like Holter, are worn over the heart for 48 hours as you live your life normally, exercise and all. The entire period of time is later analyzed. In terms of some metrics a consumer grade chest strap, like Polar H10, is considered superior to wrist worn devices, such as staying connected while moving around, providing continuous readings, etc. Why doesn’t ECG+ have an option of directly collecting chest strap readings for a variable duration, like hours, even while exercising? In my opinion, this ECG+ isn’t built on the strongest foundation and I can’t see how it’s worth $120.
Update: ECG+ now has GPT-5 integrated and becomes significantly more powerful, with your ECG recordings and changes over time, explained by GPT.Oct 5, 2024Thanks very much for your feedback. Although Apple Watch ECG doesn't detect PVCs by itself but the readings (lead I or II depending on which wrist you wear the watch) is sufficient for a sophisticated algorithm to match the premature contractions pattern and call them out. In terms of supporting other ECG devices, we do have the capacity to support more devices, especially those with long time recordings, where our algorithm can do a much better job in finding a lot more things of interests. However not everybody is willing to share their data with others, for different reasons but mostly protecting their own interests.ECG+ is built on a strong algorithm to parse and interpret ECG readings (1 lead or 12 leads, 30 seconds or hours), and given Apple Watch's ease of use, openness level and superior reading quality, it is, I am afraid, one of the strongest options. Thanks again.
