Learn 1 Year of Math in 3 Months, Guaranteed

The Elephant Learning Mathematics Academy. has helped over 160,000 students learn years of mathematics in just a few months. On average, children in our system learn 1.5 years of mathematics over the course of 10 weeks using our system just 30 minutes per week. Recommended usage is 10 minutes per day, 3 days per week.

We teach mathematics as a language and cover from counting through Algebra. We accept students of all ages and remediate students struggling with upper-level mathematics. Progress is measured by our Elephant Age (TM), the average age a student outside of the system is doing the same mathematics as your student based on federal standards. We utilize gamification to make mathematics fun. To the student, it feels like a puzzle game, think "Angry Birds" for mathematics. However, the students are receiving activities that are known by early-age education researchers to facilitate learning and retention.

Reports are generated live providing detailed information on what we are teaching, how we intend to teach it, and how you may take learning outside of the system with fun activities if you wish to be more involved. The subscription includes live coaching and tutoring by our Results Counselors who are able to look at the data and advise. Please sign up on our website prior to downloading the app.

Beyond this you receive:
* Learn 1 Year of Math in 3 months with just 30 minutes per week

Not great

I did have to sign in with a credit card but there is a three day cancellation. So I canceled same day after allowing each of my three children to try using this app. The application has many different levels but they are marked with cartoon characters rather than a description of the math function that is taught at that level. The voice is robotic and has a British English accent. It is also very very slow to load each level. And every time you back out of the level it changes back to the first child’s profile. It doesn’t adapt to the expected level of the child based on the age but starts even my older child off at a five-year-old level. Then again my five-year-old had access to what would probably be third or fourth grade mathematic which she selected based on the cuteness of the cartoon character that represented it. I wanted to love this app and I hope they make major improvements such as adding a repeat button for children who cannot read the very tiny word problem Text. The problem should be presented in numeric format and read to the students several ways. I believe this app has great potential but it is not ready yet. I did like that they allowed for sliding fees based on income so that is very helpful as a single parent who does homeschool.

Noise Overkill

There needs to be a way to seperately set or mute the volume for extraneous sounds (the bells, whistles, clapping , etc) when there is a correct answer. The volume needs to be fairly high to hear the questions clearly (for some reason they are read in different accents). However, this makes the other noises, music, sounds seem VERY loud. My noise sensitive child covers her ears every time she gets an answer right and I get annoyed with these sounds when they are doing the program in the car. Also, the “affirmation noises” (especially the clapping one) seems to go on far too long. A nice little ding, or a voice saying “correct” should be sufficient. I will adjust my review as these issues are addressed.
