Higher skill needed

The one week free trial is the reason this has any stars at all. That was a very smart choice and I now know exactly what to expect which I appreciate. The downfall of this app is it is not big enough. There is not challenging tricks for more advanced jumpers. In the videos Lauren demonstrated she could do a Tj which involves a toad, but not even that is included in the skill map. There could also be a more advanced section where a tj could be taught or even a tj quad or Eb tj quad. Also all power such as frogs and push-ups are missing. I think the footwork was used a little too much while lacking on other vital parts of the sport. As someone working on a tj quint and a frog double down this was simply not the app I needed. After looking back on this, I did forget to mention two key things. First, the app does an amazing job with what it is sent out to do. The tutorials are in depth and well implemented. Second, the app is very easy to use and has room to expand. The whole program is as advertised, and because of the free trial it is sooo much better. Hands down a really good app, just not what I was looking for.

Developer Response ,

Hey! Thank you for your feedback. The library of skills and combos will continually grow. I would love to cover every jump rope skill straight away but due to the production value and detail in the tutorials on Fancy Feats and the hundreds of skills in the world of jump rope it wouldn’t be feasible. It is also both responsible and logical to prioritise skills based on level, starting with beginner skills and expanding from there. I have also prioritised based on requests from my followers. Ultimately, that is what I’m catering for. I have just filmed 20 new skills and 40 new combos including the toad - which you mentioned. As for the TJ (toad triple under) tutorial, before I can teach this, I will need to introduce basic triple under skills and even the double under toad so members are well practiced and informed before they start attempting TJ drills. Other prerequisites would also be required for a TJ quad or EB TJ quad - 2 skills I’d never seen any of my 2.5 million followers mention before I saw your review. As someone who is learning a TJ quint (where you rotate the rope 5 times in one jump) you are incredibly advanced, which I can only commend you for. I would argue that once you understand the mechanics around individual skills and then turning them into multiples (which you clearly do as someone attempting a quint), a tutorial can only do so much and you would in fact be better off seeking coaching from a competitive level coach. Feel free to drop me a DM if you’d like me to refer you to any :) Thanks again for your review. L x

Super fun & effective skill-building!

I came to Fancy Feats after getting comfortable with basic steps using Crossrope and wanting to learn more and challenge myself. This app has been a game-changer in building my skills, ease, and confidence jumping rope! The guided tutorials not only demonstrate each skill but also explain ways to break it down, how to avoid common mistakes, and what to focus on for efficient execution. Besides learning new moves, I find myself revisiting the steps I already know to work on improving my form and fluidity. The skills map is fun to explore, and the combos section is great for putting those new skills into practice. After a couple of months with the app, I now feel able to create my own routines and attempt remixes with others in the jump rope community. Fancy Feats has been so worth the investment for the fun and added fitness it has brought me! I’m also excited Lauren plans to keep adding skills & combos so the app will continue to provide value beyond all that it already includes. So thankful this app exists!

Love the app, price too high

As a beginner/intermediate jumproper this app is *exactly* what I’ve been looking for - simple breakdowns, some new fancy footwork, combos, etc. Really love it. But $25 a month is just way too high. It’s prohibitive for most people.

Seconding some feedback on the skill map… I understand the intent, but it’s far too on-rails. I found myself dedicating 15 min to clicking on every skill and tapping ‘complete’, just so I could see the rest of them. We need to be able to explore to get motivated and excited to learn.
