fanSync WiFi 4+

Just installed fanSync Wifi on iphone 13 with ios 15.6 public beta. Speed control using app was fine until I switched the fan into "Fresh Air" mode as a test. Fresh Air seems to vary the speed of the fan to mimic natural wind changes. Problems occurred when I tried to return the fan to normal mode. All control buttons in the app greyed out, locking the fan in the fresh air mode. Tried quitting and restarting the app to no effect. Rebooted phone, no effect. The app keeps displaying very quick black banners saying something about establishing connection but they disappear too quickly to read fully. Finally had to completely delete the fan from the app and reinstall it in order to get the control buttons back. At this point I have very little confidence in the app. Remote control works fine, just the app.

We have 2 Fanimation AireDrop fans. I consider us lucky to have had the app “mostly” work for a while. The first fan required a new WiFi module almost immediately, but was great after that. This prompted us to get a second fan for our daughter’s. I was able to link her fan to Alexa to create a bedtime and wake-up routine that included the fan and light. Also, should she lose the remote (as kids do), the app and Alexa were a handy backup. Suddenly, neither fan is responding. Was going to go to the app, but the app won’t even open. I have restarted my phone. I have deleted and redownloaded the app. Nothing. I paid extra for these fans for a reason. Highly disappointing.

I’ve been in communication with Fanimation’s tech support. I love my new Fanimation Odyn, but it takes 3 to 4+ attempts for the fanSync app to connect with the fan. It takes 5 minutes to turn off the fan. You think it turned off and you return to the room and it is still on. Several dealers told me that the Odyn is compatible with Apple HomeKit. But after purchase and installation I discover it does not. I inquired about using Lutron Caseta smart switches but they are also not compatible. Fanimation was not helpful, offered no advise and did not even apologize for being misled and their app not working. I wanted to buy two more fans but not now.
