Flume Water 4+

First, the iPad app has no landscape mode. That’s just annoying. At least they didn’t just port their iPhone version to the iPad and put the little “2X” in the corner to double the size on an iPad. It’s a pain to have to rotate my iPad and keyboard, which operates more like a laptop, sideways to use it. Try entering data on a keyboard turned sideways. The other issue I have came after it was all installed and registered. I got an email from them stating that the City I live in has a waiver for me to sign. The City stated that they own the meter and we are responsible for replacing it if they think this device caused damage. They also are requiring that I sign away my rights to dispute my water bill based on discrepancies between the Flume readings and their meter. I have three months to answer or? They cut off my water?

I purchased this device several weeks ago and it has saved me a lot of money. I installed the device over the meter as described and proceeded to calibrate. After about 30 minutes I received a notification that I had a leak. I assumed I messed up the calibration. I checked that all water usage had stopped, then recalibrated. Thirty minutes later another leak notification. I then walked the perimeter of the house and sure enough I saw an unusual pool of water on the side of the house. I dug it up to be sure there was nothing there. To my surprise I found a pipe which had a leak. Amazing.... My water bill subsequently arrived and it was more than $400 over our normal baseline. Without this device I expect it would have taken several more weeks to discover.

Thanks for an amazing and seamless product. The only thing that I would love to see is support for HomeKit going forward.

Have been using Flume for a month. Impressed with Flume so far. This morning I checked app and noticed no reporting since yesterday afternoon, and water sensor offline. But NO notifications!!? One, that’s a huge concern being blind to water leaks. Two, had to go to Flume bridge and restart it. That’s another concern since bridge was online but there is no remote reset. We bought Flume since we are retired and away for weeks at a time. Now nervous how often this is going to happen when we are away. And to clarify, water meter is dry, nothing has changed with wireless network, and bridge distance to water sensor is the same.
