GATOR SAFE is the official safety app of University of Florida. The University of Florida Police Department has worked to develop a unique app that provides students, faculty and staff with added safety on the UF campus. The app will send you important safety alerts and provide instant access to campus safety resources.
GATOR SAFE features include:
- Mobile BlueLight: Send your location to UFPD in real-time in case of a crisis
- Emergency Contacts: Contact the correct services for the University area in case of an emergency or a non-emergency concern
- Tip Reporting: Multiple ways to report a safety/security concern directly to UFPD.
- Safety notifications: Receive instant notifications and instructions from campus safety when on-campus emergencies occur.
- Chat with Security: Communicate live with UFPD via chat.
- Crime Mapping: View recent crimes that have occurred on and near campus.
- Campus safety resources: access all important safety resources in one convenient app.

This is the app that the university says is the best way for your student to stay safe, updates, call for help. And it won’t even load. We just spent an hour learning about all the things it does, how vital it is, and it won’t even load.
Ludicrous
The university has used this app as a tech platform to punish instructors and see mistrust between instructors and their students. Utterly shameful
