GNSS Status is a software utility that allows the configuration of Trimble R1, R2 and PG200 GNSS receivers, as well as providing GNSS status information to the user. GNSS Status collects information in the form of log files to aid troubleshooting and support, no personally identifying information is collected. This information is not shared unless the user chooses to do so. The log files contain general information about the iOS device and some specific information about connected Trimble GNSS receivers such as serial numbers.

There are Pros and Cons with the "Update"

Original review: I originally downloaded the app in July as we were getting ready to purchase a Trimble GPS . The app's UI was simple to navigate and much more user friendly (it was a five star app). Then after a couple months, we finely got our GPS device and the app's UI has changed. It is not as intuitative anymore.Update: I do like that it saves the last GPS I connected to so I don't have to hit "connect" everytime I turn it on. There are definitely pros and cons. I just preferred the old app UI. Otherwise, the updates may be better than I initially though.

Cannot override iOS Core Location services ?

"GNSS Status" app is advertised to override iOS Core Location services so that any iOS app can use a R1 or R2. It just does not work. The "GNSS Status" app can be displaying 38cm accuracy using SBAS yet when you switch to a 3rd party iOS app, the difference between a latitude / longitudes taken seconds apart can be 50 feet or more without even moving the R1?The EOS Tools Pro app just works. I can use any 3rd party iOS GPS application. You connect to an EOS Arrow series GNSS device, launch EOS Tools Pro, then launch your GPS app.What cannot Trimble do the same? Trimble's support is a black hole. Has anyone figured this out? I'd dearly love to use my R1 with my favorite iOS app.

Ever since the update I have been having trouble connecting to the unit on many occasions... had a black screen when I first downloaded and had to uninstall and reinstall the app.

The free app works very well. I am using a Trimble R1 and iPhone. If this app had position averaging, it would be five star plus.

Fixes an issue affecting the tracking of new BeiDou satellites. Fixes a crash when sharing logs and preferences, on some devices. Fixes display of status data on iOS 13. Fixes receiver connection problems in GNSS Direct apps on iOS 13.
