Drive with confidence. HighwayRadar gives you a heads-up about speed traps, enforcement, and cameras ahead so you can keep your eyes on the road and avoid surprises. Now with Apple CarPlay.
Whether you're commuting, road-tripping, or just running errands, HighwayRadar helps you stay aware of what's coming up on your route with no expertise required. Open the app, start driving, and get clear, timely alerts. Get the peace of mind of knowing what's ahead without taking your attention off the road.
WHAT YOU GET
• Real-time police alerts shared by a community of drivers, often with the posted speed limit right at the alert location
• A worldwide database of speed and red-light cameras, plus a US database of license-plate (ALPR) cameras, updated regularly
• Aircraft speed-enforcement alerts that use smart logic to spot patrols trying to stay hidden
• Heat maps that reveal where speed traps tend to happen even when no one is reporting right now
• A Risk Score tailored to your exact location, time, and day, so you know when to stay extra alert
• Local enforcement details where available: radar bands, common tactics, and vehicle descriptions
SIMPLE, BUT AS CUSTOMIZABLE AS YOU WANT
You don't have to touch a single setting to benefit. But when you're ready to fine-tune, HighwayRadar puts you in control:
• Choose how far ahead you want to be warned, or let smart, speed-aware distances handle it for you
• Decide which alerts matter: only what's on your street, anything ahead of you, or everything nearby
• Turn specific camera types on or off
• Filter out older reports and focus on fresh ones
• Hear alerts through CarPlay, Bluetooth, or your phone speaker
• Flash the screen for a quick visual heads-up when a new alert arrives
BUILT FOR CARPLAY AND YOUR CAR
• Full CarPlay support with maps, alerts, and easy reporting
• A clean speed display showing the current limit alongside your own speed
• Automatic zoom as you approach an alert, so you see the detail that matters
• Traffic overlay, adjustable map angle and zoom, and a location icon you can personalize
• Customizable light and dark themes that can follow your system or the local sunrise and sunset
WORKS WITH YOUR RADAR DETECTOR (OPTIONAL)
Already own a detector or laser system? HighwayRadar can connect to it and become your all-in-one alert hub, showing radar band, direction, and signal strength, muting weak or unwanted signals automatically, and creating GPS lockouts so the false alarms you pass every day stop bothering you (even if your detector doesn't have this functionality).
Supported hardware includes Uniden R8/R4/R9 (and "w" models), Valentine V1 Gen2, Radenso DS1, and AL Priority. You can even hear spoken readouts of the detected band and direction, a favorite of motorcycle riders and anyone who'd rather keep their eyes up.
WHY DRIVERS CHOOSE HIGHWAY RADAR
• Awareness that goes beyond live reports, thanks to heat maps and Risk Score
• Cameras, aircraft, police alerts, and radar, all in one place
• Thoughtful controls that stay out of your way until you want them
• Battery-friendly Power Save mode that winds the app down when you're parked
GREAT FOR EVERY KIND OF DRIVE
• Ideal for daily commutes and long road trips alike
• Keeps frequent travelers aware of cameras and enforcement in unfamiliar cities
• Inspired by and perfect for cross-country driving events where you're on the road all day
• Takes the guesswork out of what's around the next bend
Head out knowing what's ahead. Try HighwayRadar and see the difference a little awareness makes on every drive.
Subscription required. Works in miles or kilometers.
Signal-direction recognition is available on Uniden R8/R8w, R9/R9w, and Valentine V1 Gen2.

as the title suggests, I was involved in some of the early beta testing in this program throughout the Testflight days. as you can imagine the early days were glitchy, but most of the bugs most of the freezes and lagging has been has/have been worked out. that being said, the app is wonderfully useful, BUT. have a brand new 17 Pro Max, with the best battery life ever, and I have noticed it in every other sense, this app has the most immense ridiculous drain on a battery I have ever seen, almost double(edit: maybe just a BIT more, did some more testing) what any other mapping application does, this needs to be fixed.UPDATE: realize how involved developer is on various forums and i understand now the comparative drain for something with such a high function load. look forward to continued updates. 5 stars for innovation

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you're finding the app useful! I've done extensive testing with feedback from thousands of users to ensure that the App Store version of the app consumes power similarly to other mapping apps with navigation active. It reduces battery-draining operations significantly when you're moving slowly, and has gone through many iterations to reduce them while moving. That said, v1.2 will be largely focused on performance improvements and, since you're not experiencing the expected battery draw, I'll be revisiting this to lower power consumption further (meanwhile, v1.1 is coming soon and contains bug fixes and a handful of new features).Since you note having used the beta, please make sure that you're using the App Store version, as the beta is just that and has no guarantees for performance.EDIT: Thanks for the review update! Feel free to reach out directly if you have any concerns or questions in the future.
The Insiders Waze
rihallix
Driving 4,600 miles from Montana to Lake Placid, NY for a car event provided an excellent opportunity to really put Highway Radar through its paces. This really is Waze on steroids:- you see the recency of Waze police reports- you don’t get the irritating / irrelevant “a car is on the side of the road”- you see a lovely risk score for your location which you can choose to be out of 10 or 25, I chose the latter and found it useful- you see a heat map telling you the exact spots where crowdsourced radar data shows that speed enforcers like to hang outThe app provides more than adequate turn by turn directions. In 4,600 miles I didn’t make a single wrong turn.Ultimately this is like having a local sitting in your passenger seat tipping you off “it’s high risk here” or “police are rarely here” supplemented by “and here’s exactly where they like to hang out”.Highly recommended. Frankly indispensable for any highway run on roads over 200 miles you’re unfamiliar with if you like to get the most out of your car. (While staying safe of course!).
The Perfect Driving App
say ty
This app is super legit and will elevate your overall driving experience. You will feel much more comfortable driving as it is extremely accurate in pointing out red light cameras, speed cameras, and ofc cops…There’s a heat map that shows where cops are typically pinned by users on waze and maybe google maps too which is just amazing (the area might be bright red/white if there have been many cop sightings over time or black if there have been none). This app is brand new as of now, Jan 2026, and it is already incredible. Cannot imagine what it will be like in years to come!
Family plan??
RadarUser121
My girlfriend has bought the family plan under her IOS account, and it states that that should allow me to be under the same subscription, but there’s no explanation of how to connect this in the book or on the forum. Is this feature implemented yet? EDIT— read through the comments on here and now I see that we must be under the same apple family sharing plan. Leaving this up so that others can see. Recommend making this info easy to see in the app description as well as on RDF. Thanks!
Developer Response
Thanks a ton! Glad you were able to find it. I'll figure out how to add this info in the app somewhere. Great suggestion! Not sure that the average user knows what RDF (rdforum.org) is, haha. It's been discussed there but I can make it more visible so that a Google search might turn it up.
