Description
Honda LogR is a data logger app exclusively for Honda Civic Type R. The service can be accessed by connecting the smartphone to the car. Understanding how the car behaves while driving can help you to further improve your driving skills. The app can be used on Road and on Track, enabling you to become closer with your Type R at all times. Vehicle data is displayed in real time on the infotainment screen, the data is also logged to be viewed later on the Smartphone.
Main functions:
* Performance monitor
Vehicle information can be displayed on the in-vehicle monitor to check the vehicle condition and behavior in real time.
* Drive logger
In conjunction with GPS, Lap measurement can be done with user definable start and finish lines. You can record the time and running data for each LAP and check the result on your smartphone after the run.
* Driving score
Your driving is scored against a Honda algorithm to calculate good driving, it is based on the behavior of the vehicle and the smoothness and accuracy of your inputs. The data is recorded on the Smartphone for later interrogation. By checking the score for each drive and noticing your own driving characteristics and trends, you can improve your driving level with the help of your car.

The app is great when displaying engine data but the scoring system does not work right sometimes it scores your drive sometimes the combined score is missing. Also can this app have a couple of additions that the FL5 app has like being able to change the color of the car? It is always white but I have a boost blue would be a nice touch. When the FL5 was released it seems like Honda just forgot about this app for the FK8.
LogR Functionality on Previous Model Years
Owner of ‘19 CTR. Between app version 1.0 and 1.0.3, I had been able to see some data points like water temp, intake air temp, and atmospheric pressure. Now I cannot. I knew the app was targeted toward the ‘20 model year and newer, but this short lived discovery was very exciting. The fact that the functionality had presented itself and then had gone away leads me to believe that the firmware and hardware within the FK8 lineup supports this functionality. I would be very disappointed if this is the case. I don’t want third party loggers or to root/hack my unit. I would really appreciate if Honda didn’t alienate R owners preceding ‘20 model years.
