Great Service
With over 600 bikes available at UCSB, this system is great. Occasional glitches but customer service has always taken care of me. Very affordable when my bike got stolen. Now I don’t worry about my bike being stolen or broken. The 90 day pass is perfect for students as it covers the entire quarter. I got the annual pass as I can use this in Santa Monica, USF and other places that HOPR is. It’s awesome.
Awful, costly glitches
I was so excited for dockless bikes and excited to try out HOPR. The interface looked simple - just scan out and lock bike at the end. However, I tried it on two different round trips, and both times were costly mistakes. The first time was my mistake (didn’t realize meter keeps going on a pause), since I couldn’t figure out how to park the bike out of a hub (it’s in tiny print under a huge warning to move to a hub) Thankfully, they did credit me for the time the bike was paused. On my second try, the bike never locked. After a 12 minute ride, I spent 45 minutes trying to lock the bike. After a call and several notes to customer service, I finally gave up and just left the bike unlocked. The trip ended at $20 (instead of a ride that should have been $3). I received an email from customer service “confirming that the bike had not locked” and wondering if I could “detail how I tried to lock the bike”. After this email- no response, reimbursement, nor credit, one week later. I’m extremely disappointed. This app needs a lot of work, but the company’s customer service needs more work.
Also, the ads on this Cleveland launch claimed that your first ride is free when you download the app, but they falsely advertise this- there is no first free ride.
TERRIBLE !!!!!
Where do I begin, I ditched the scooter for this, hoping for a safer more controlled ride. I even looked it up to confirm that it was an E bike before I went ahead and started my ride.
This vehicle is barely an E bike, the only thing the electrical feature adds to this bicycle is the heaviness.
Difficult to pedal, requires a lot of legwork and muscle work. I parked it at a hub, and it is telling me that I’m parking it outside of a hub I already submitted a complaint for that as well. I better not get charge for it being parked out of a hub when it is literally inside of a hub. I would not recommend this ride to anyone, you guys should label it as a workout bike and not an electric bike. It’s definitely not for convenience, definitely for a strong workout
