I set a schedule to turn on my brand new air conditioner, and it doesn’t work. I mean, it’s not the end of the wold, but if it’s advertised, it should work.
And really, that’s the problem here; you’re checking boxes on people’s comparison lists by advertising that it’s a “smart appliance”, but you’re not putting the R&D into making the smart features work.
At best, it’s ignorance, but more likely, it’s false advertising and marketing departments driving product “development”.
I’ve had this app for less than 12hrs. That’s how long I needed to realize how much a pain was. I purchased a washer and dryer on Friday and was told about the WiFi capability. It was delivered Tuesday morning and it is now Tuesday night and I still cannot get the app working properly. It took me about 10 minutes to finally log in after repeatedly entering the captcha verification. Every time I leave the app and sign in I have to reenter the captcha verification. After finally getting that situation handled I was prompted to scan the QR codes. That was a process in itself. Nothing really explains about the 2 separate codes that need to be scanned, but I finally got them scanned. After naming my device I was told to enter my WiFi information. Went to check my WiFi password on my cellphone and went back to the Kenmore app and was again presented with the captcha verification!!! Seriously?!?! How many times do I have to prove I’m not a robot? I feel like a robot doing this process over and over. Anyways, I enter my WiFi information and after about 3-5 minutes of waiting the app cannot verify my WiFi account. Although I know my WiFi works. Please fix this app and issue that I see everyone else is experiencing so we can use the app to its full potential.
I bought a new home that unfortunately had all Kenmore appliances. After connecting them to my app, they started losing the connection, saying I had no WiFi, etc. Which is weird because EVERY OTHER WiFi enabled device in my home stays connected 24/7 and has ZERO issues with my WiFi. Reading the comments, I see this is a common problem for most users. I can reconnect it, which wastes about 10 minutes of my time per appliance, only for them to stay connected anywhere from 1 hour to a few days. I’ve given up on this piece of crap app and would not recommend the appliances or this app to anyone.
