HP Sproket Plus best gift

My husband got this for me for Xmas, I think it was 2017, after someone took our pic using a newer version of a Polaroid camera at Bonnaroo & gave it to us right there on the spot! I was instantly hooked & it took me back to when we were younger & Polaroid cameras were a thing. Having an old old Polaroid all big & chunky I thought no way, I need a new one. I had no idea a sprocket existed nor did I expect one however when I opened it, I was all in & in love! I have taken it to a few weddings & give the bride & groom their first printed copy of them kissing or walking down the isle & just love the amazed “how did u do this” look! I’ve taken it to parties & just Printed pics & left them laying on tables & just watched people’s reactions when they saw them. So from weddings to bday parties to Xmas parties I have wowed everyone & talked so many people into buying one! No ink, affordable & u must get the case to carry it in. Easy to use! I’m going to a 44th leap year bday party tonight & can’t wait to use it! A must have!

Thank you!!

I know it’s Christmas and your probably working on this. I just wanted to say thank you!!! This is really awesome. I’ve been always using my phone to take pictures but I never knew how I should show it to people on paper or something. I would have to go on the computer and do all that work! But this resolved everything for taking pictures!! I love to take pictures and this helps me show it to the people who want to see it. I’m so grateful I got this for Christmas today, and a person who downloaded this app. This is much easier to print! I may be 13, but I’m so happy that this is a real little printer. THANK YOU!!!!!!! -a user who used this kameronnnn

Wish i could like this app...

There is a lot of nice things for the user experience and aesthetics of this app. Unfortunately using it is still a frustrating experience. It’s hard to tell when the printer is actually on or not (that is also a problem of the actual hardware). Most of the photos print out too washed out or overly splotchy compared to the image on the app.

The most annoying but hopefully easy to fix thing: it’s impossible to choose the crop on the photo—the standard iPhone photo is just a bit too big for the printed paper and there’s no way to adjust in the app what part of the photo gets cut off, so I’ve printed a bunch of photos with someone’s head or face cut off. Even when i crop the photo differently in the iPhone photo editor it still shows up with the wrong proportions on the sprocket app and print. What’s the point of printing the photo when it doesn’t really show what i actually want to be printed....please i hope there will be a feature soon to choose what is in the printed frame of the print—i really want to like the sprocket and this app.

Developer Response ,

Hi "Sad", sorry to hear about your frustration. We will try to alleviate it. :-) There is an 'Auto Off' setting (and a 'Sleep Timer' setting for HP Sprocket 200) you can modify. In the sprocket app, tap on the menu icon (3 bars in the upper left corner), tap 'sprocket' tap 'Printer Settings' and set the value(s) to what you would like. You can also see the 'Device State' and 'Battery' level in this menu. If your printer is on, you will see a green light and 'Connected' at the top of the screen in the main menu. Additionally, when viewing a photo in the preview screen, you will see a green dot on the printer icon at the bottom of the screen if your printer is on. There are several things you can do to improve the print quality (PQ): 1. Disable Embedded Experiences if you are not using this feature. To do so, go into the sprocket menu, (3 bars in upper left-hand corner of the app), tap on "sprocket", tap on "App Settings" and then tap on the button next to "Embedded Experiences" if it is enabled. 2. Always use the colored Print Quality Card that comes with each paper pack. It will pass through the HP Sprocket Photo Printer automatically before the first print job. It cleans and calibrates the printer for that specific paper pack. Discard the Print Quality Card after you have printed all ten sheets in that pack. Sometimes running the sheet through the printer 3-4 times can help. 3. Please be sure to always use the latest app version and update the printer firmware when available. 4. When you open a photo in the app preview mode, tap on "Edit" and then tap the Wand to apply the Photofix feature. You can view additional PQ tips on this support document: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05660842/. Regarding the wrong proportions, when you open a photo in the preview screen, you can use a single finger to double tap to fit/fill, or you can use two fingers to punch/zoom. We hope this helps - we want you to love your sprocket!
