I purchased the generator with high expectations for the mobile app. Since the generator was installed there have been many times when the status is unavailable simply because of maintenance on the cloud environment or it simply is not available. Today the cloud was not available for well over an hr and as a result of these outages I do not have any status on my generator! The app was much more reliable prior to the last update! It’s hard to understand how a major player in standby generation could let these problems persist? I like the generator but unless the problems with the mobile app are fixed cannot recommend purchasing the generator with such a poorly supported software product.

I’ve been a proud owner of a Cummins generator for 4 years now. Great generator, but absolute garbage app. It seems the you, (Cummins) are not committed to providing your customers with the services you tout. This literally has been one screw up after another. It works and then it doesn’t. When it does work, it’s only partially. You try to talk to someone at Cummins to resolve the issue and it’s as if I have a kindergartner in the line. It appears your own personnel are so frustrated with the lack of support from their own company that they don’t know what to do. I’ve interacted with your support people several times over the years trying to gain functionality with your app. It’s a joke. I can’t even access into my account because of the garbage operation of this app. You keep coming out with updates. But they never solve the root problem. You perfectly represent the definition of insanity by doing the same thing every time and expect different results. You know what the problem is. It’s your interdependence on Microsoft Online operation. That’s where your garbage is produced. FIX IT!!! Total disappointment!! Garbage. Do not use!!

When I first got my two generators five years ago, this app worked just fine. I could monitor my generators and receive notification when they started and shut down. A couple years ago I had an issue that required a circuit board to be replaced. And that was the end of my ability to connect or even login. And yes, I did get assistance from My serviceman. So this new update was supposed to combine your login with the website and the app. Well, I’ve always been able to login at the website but not the app so I followed their instructions and repeated them three times and contacted Support, but I still can’t login like everybody else. I just get the login screen over and over again. They know they have this ongoing issue but!!!

We had our generator 17AE installed today. The app works great. I can start and stop the generator and tell everything about it including faults and when maintenance items need to be accomplished. I can also log in via an online web portal. My dealer is also monitoring my app and can be alerted to faults and can service my unit without me being involved. It’s easy to use and it’s a great peace of mind when traveling. The app is free. My dealer monitors my generator for free. I also hired them for $275/year to do regular maintenance. We are Happy with the app and Cummins :)
