BlueCare Anywhere is a BCBSAZ health plan benefit. That means you will pay a copay for your virtual visit like you do for an in-person visit. Best of all, you don’t have to drive anywhere to get care and there is no waiting room to sit in. If you use Apple Health, you can choose to share your health information with the doctor during your virtual visit, such as heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, blood glucose levels, weight, nutritional information and respiratory rate.

Easy to use! Convenient/efficient
I've used several video chat apps to see doctors and they all have their quirks/glitches. I just used Blue Care Anywhere to see a doctor and it was SEAMLESS! I am highly impressed. The doctor was also great, competent. Every step of the app was smooth and signing up was easy. The app didn't glitch, which I was pleasantly surprised by. I was able to scroll through providers and see their experience level, a common feature for these kinds of apps but I think every doctor had written their own little intro/bio which was a nice personal touch. In the "waiting room" there was a video playing of a woman explaining what to expect during the video visit. Overall, I am very happy with my experience using the app and I am telling all my coworkers about it today!
Flawed
I scheduled an appointment, then went through all the steps and answered all the questions only for it to tell me last minute that my psychiatrist is not licensed for my state. That is something that you could easily filter way before I schedule an appointment. Thank you for wasting my time. Get better engineers, don’t be cheap. Also my time costs money, so please send me a check for $80 plus an inconvenience fee of $40 because I scheduled my night around the appointment I couldn’t have. Thank you. You have my address. Now you are charging me $40 for a missed appointment, but I guess this is a pending authorization fee and will be removed? 1. The email you sent me can’t be replied to which would be convenient to help launch a dispute claim 2. The phone numbers you gave me on the apps message a.) don’t have links b.) it’s not possible for me to copy the phone number. I have to flip back and forth to call support. You definitely rushed this product out which is annoying considering how many people probably use this service. It’s just such a mess.
My first BlueCare Anywhere visit
I have to admit that before today, I thought I would never use an online app for medical issues. Because it is difficult to drive around as I am recovering from ankle surgery, decided to use this app.
The app was simple to use and I was connected with Dr. Mercado within minutes. She was very attentive as I described my symptoms and asked questions that I wouldn’t have thought if bringing up. I did not feel rushed through the visit and was confident in her diagnosis. I will be using this health tool in the future for certain.
