I have now spent the past week trying to get through my start up work for my current job. The online process is full of bugs and errors that make the process frustrating and most unacceptable. Forms that have been filled out already are showing as “not started” and I am getting messages from production requesting again documents that I have already submitted through the app. I have submitted my start work digitally on numerous past jobs, with zero issues ever. Yet, with Greenslate, I have encountered one headache and concern after another. This has been such a frustration that I will be wary of accepting future employment from productions who identify Greenslate as their payroll company. Considering the current COVID conditions, I may have no choice but to accept work regardless of the payroll company. But I absolutely dread having to go through this process ever again. Please correct these issues Greenslate and until then, I ask that productions consider other options for payroll services.

The laziest and buggiest payroll service out there. If you can get the app and or site to work for you have fun with the maze of the UI that they have setup to lead them into the web of excuses they spin to avoid paying you on time or accurately. This budget payroll company exists for the low to no budget productions that need to stall payments, get around union contracts, or just flat out try to avoid paying people. Have an issue? Give them a call and see if you can get a live person to give you a pre written list of excuses as to why you haven’t been paid. It’d always someone else’s fault with GreenSlate. Avoid if you can!

This app has sucked for far too long. Automatic log in doesn’t work. It’ll read your face and then nothing happens so you’ll always have to manually input your email and password. Speaking of password.. I know they want us to be secure but having to update your password as often as they make us is really frustrating. Copy and paste passcode from messages only works 50% of the time. It kicks you out of your start when you go to manage your direct and tax form settings. And then it’s not clear if it saved your tax/direct deposit info on the start form because it’ll still just say manage instead of whatever setting you have them to. Also sometimes it doesn’t save your I9 verification documents so you have to do it multiple times in one start form. If this app worked better I’d be a bit more happy when companies offer greenslate.

When I’m not at my desk the GreenSlate app has came in handy on more than a few occasions. They have made continuous updates over the years and has been a lifesaver. It’s only been getting better. I can take care of almost everything on the app that i typically would do on a desktop computer. Saves time when on the go!
