Poor communication

We are 3 months into our first “rental” business. We are fortunate enough to live at “A Denstination” on the SW WA coast. Instead of our rig sitting 11-1/2 months out of the year...why not? I find Outdoorsy to be an extremely easy app/interface to use. I like the fact that I can use Insta-book and they will vet all my renters, keep in mind, no one is pulling our rig, just us. They provide the insurance and collect all the fees. I couldn’t believe after our first rental, we picked up on Sunday and Monday morning the money was in our account. We are now booked through Labor Day. So now the negative, and I am hopeful that the they are just so busy and the issues will all be resolved. There is zero communication, I have had several “glitches”, which I have tried to communicate to Outdoorsy, with absolutely no response! Although the issues, which are money related, so far have just “worked out”, which is all well and good, but should be addressed to the owner as to what happens. 4different issues with emails, phone messages and trying live chat, which isn’t live. I have heard from others to call in the middle of the night! Better ramp up this customer service issue, and the money mistake issues!

Application is Terrible

Created my account, made a listing of our RV, linked bank info for payment, spent about 2 hours creating and setting up everything and it was good to go. Go to sleep, wake up to check it and my account password is wrong, can’t reset the password as it says I’m not authorized to do so, and it says my account doesn’t exist now. Be aware, not a smooth application on the iOS platform. Crashes a lot as well.Edited Review: Apparently my account was under review by their Safety and Trust Team, of which I had no idea was taking place as I never received any notification of why my account was disabled. This was why, and now the issue is resolved but I’m still leaving it at 3 stars from 2 as the communication needs to improve drastically if something like this is to occur so the owner / customers are informed and not left guessing in the dark.Please communicate better, maybe later I’ll update this review if things improve if I ever need help in the future.

Outdoorsy fails when there are problems

I have rented my rv for 2 of the 3 summers I've owned it. It has been a nice way to get the trailer to pay for itself and I've met a lot of wonderful people. Things were great until my last rental. My trailer is currently stranded 837 miles from me with a broken frame. The renter abandoned the trailer at an rv service center and went about their multi state trip with a uhaul. Outdoorsy roadside assistance left two senior citizens on the side of the highway for 8 hours in the heat to tow my rv to a service station. Outdoorsy did not help them continue on their trip. I have gotten a different story every time I've called. I am stuck with a totaled trailer that will cost $10k just to transport back home and Outdoorsy and RVBetter are completely radio silent. I've received no answers to questions about insurance. They are insisting on communicating entirely by email and will not call me. I've sent requested documentation multiple times along with whatever pictures I have. This has been one of the worst insurance experiences ever. They keep asking me for information that I've told them I don't have and either won't or can't send an adjuster to look at the trailer. Today the automated system is telling me my trailer is back, even though there is clearly a claim against the whole thing.

Beware RV Owners

Outdoorsy does not take care of their owners. They see renters and owners as customers. When it comes to a dispute between an owner and a renter, they will take the renter’s side? Why? Because even through there is a slim chance renters will ever rent again, they assume owners are stuck with them. So they are desperately trying to maintain that relationship to the detriment of the owners. RVShare is a much better platform for owners. It has a fairer process to settle claims issues. I would not recommend Outdoorsy at all to RV Owners. Use RVShare or RVezy instead. The main issue with Outdoorsy is their ridiculous 48 hour policy to file an insurance claim against renters. RV’s have literally dozens of complicated systems that aren’t going to simply be as obvious as a dented vehicle when something is wrong. If a renter misuses or damages something that is not immediately obvious, you likely will not notice this until you not just use the RV again, but use that particular system. For something like a black water valve, this won’t be used until the end of a trip. Beware..their insurance/claims process is garbage.
