Absolutely love this program, and I have recommended it several friends and family. The app is fantastic, and it is so helpful being able to listen to the native speaker audio. However, it would be amazing to be able to search for a word or phrase. Sometimes I know exactly what I need to say in a given situation, but I have no idea where in the app to look for it. If this could be made a function, that would greatly increase the efficacy.

This app is by far the most frustrating app I have ever used. Any other app that was this buggy I would have quit using by now. But the program itself is good and so the app stays. It plays the wrong phrases when you tap. It doesn’t play some phrases at all. It continues to the next phrase when autoplay is turned off. It doesn’t pause when you press pause. It has way too many different menus to navigate to get to what you want, and it’s remarkably slow in loading them. Marking a box as completed takes way too much redundant tapping and still doesn’t properly work half the time. On a daily basis, often multiple times a day, I have to kill and restart the app because it has frozen or glitched enough to be unusable. If there were any similar language programs available, I’d use them for a better app. But there aren’t similar programs and this program is very good, so I tolerate the awful app.

*I reached out to them over four weeks ago with a detailed breakdown of all of this feedback with screenshots and device specs and I’m hopeful that there will be an update to this app soon. This program deserves a more refined companion app that this current version.*This review is strictly for the app, which has been frustrating. There are lots of little annoying things that add up to it just being a resource I don’t want to use. 1. Dead hyperlinks that just don’t go anywhere OR outdated info like referencing the Facebook group that doesn’t exist anymore. 2. A lot of the pdf “Extras” are formatted as pdf shortcuts, which just won’t open on the app. Spinning circle of death. Unusable. 3. I’m not able to scroll properly and get “trapped” on SO many sections. I seriously cannot get through 3/4 of the articles because it won’t let me scroll down! Maddening!!!! This is the main reason I rage quit out of this app. 4. Throughout The Total Success Guide, it seems like there’s accidentally a lot of blank space at the bottom of the pages (at least the ones where I can actually scroll all the way through). This is really just a poor design issue that makes the app feel less polished. 5. You have to go in and hit complete on every single component of the box, like all of the sub challenges and even the extras tab, to be able to mark off the box or a challenge as complete. Really annoying. Again, the program is great and the app does get many things right. I’m reviewing this as a busy mom of three who love apps that work as intended and actually bring additional value to the programs that they claim to supplement. Please please please fix these bugs! I WANT to love this app!

Just when I thought Talkbox couldn’t get better.... they have this app!!!! My family is really kicking learning a second language in the pants. Immediately after opening our first subscription box we were off and running. And now this app is at our fingertips ready to help us track our progress, earn certificates and awards and help our pronunciation on demand. It is extremely easy to navigate and get going. You will not be sorry with this program and it’s partnering app. I highly recommend them!!!
