Ratings and Reviews

Editors’ Choice

With elegant graphs and an interface that’s a genuine joy to use, Copilot helps you visualize exactly where your money is going; its smart algorithms, driven by machine learning, are especially adept at automatically categorizing transactions. Neat trick: The app scours your transactions to uncover recurring charges you might be overlooking.

It’s nice when it works

I came over from Mint and I like the layout in Copilot a lot more… when it works. When it doesn’t work, for example it doesn’t pull the transaction data from my primary bank accounts, then you are on your own to find a fix. I opened various requests, or messages for help from them in the app and even though it says they will respond within a week, it has almost been 3 weeks with no response. I can get the transactions to show up if I delete the account and then add it again, but I have to back and reclassify all the transactions again. Their support page says you should wait for them before deleting the account, but based on the responses here I am not overly optimistic they will have a fix soon. And it is not just Plaid, because mint was using plaid and while I had to re-authticate every so often it would still pull my transaction data once I did. I have other issues like some of my investment accounts are not supported. The only other solution would be to add transactions manually, which would be time consuming. I am thinking they are probably overwhelmed with new users coming from Mint which is being shut down. I’ll probably give it another month or so before going to look for something else if this doesn’t improve. If you are new to this app like me, I would suggest changing your subscription to monthly instead of yearly which is the default until you can confirm it works with your other institutions.

Honest Review

The reason I got copilot was because I would just constantly see money disappear so I wanted something that could track everything. I also have a few investment accounts, a credit card, and a lot of reoccurring payments.

Pros: Copilot does an AMAZING job at watching over everything! It shows you what comes in and what goes out. It gives summaries and averages for the months and years which I find very helpful. You can track your bank accounts, most investment accounts, credit cards, reoccurring payments, income, and more. It has definitely helped me keep track of things and saved me money! I believe that it is necessary to get the subscription as it’s much better for tracking everything. I bought the yearly one which is $70 I believe which isn’t bad at all if you think about how much you save by being able to track everything.

Cons: To connect your accounts to Copilot, they use a third party called Plaid. I have had ZERO luck with this and personally have never had a single good experience with Plaid. I think they need to integrate their own software for this or find an alternative because I am constantly having problems connecting accounts and it’s very inconsistent. I also think it would be nice to be able to customize rules and some other things within the app as it would make things much smoother and organized. You are kind of limited to what rules you can create and the rules are pretty broad causing some transactions to mix up.

Developer Response ,

Thanks so much for the honest review! If you haven't yet, could you contact our team via the in-app chat? We'd be happy to troubleshoot that credit card connection issue you mentioned.
