I am the mother of a child with severe disabilities. We have a lot of routine care tasks to track. Routinery has really helped me with mental clarity, and I feel much better since I started using it. i can’t say enough how helpful this app has been for me. I do have a wishlist. All of my routines are manual because I don’t start them at the same time each day. I wish there were a way to hide my usual evening tasks (like a bedtime routine) until later in the day because my entire list of daily routines has become too cluttered. I also wish there were seasonal, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual routine options. I also wish there were a way to make certain tasks show up only on certain days. For example, I water my houseplants on each Sunday, but I fertilize them once a month. It would be nice to be able to have it all as part of the same Sunday plant care routine with the fertilizer showing up only once per month. I know I could duplicate the routine and set them for different Sundays, but any future changes to the routine would require the change to be made to each of those routines. I hope this makes sense.UPDATE: I love this app, but I have so many routines that I am having difficulty finding and organizing them when I filter by activated routines. I wish there were some way to categorize the routines by day, frequency, and topic (like fitness, household, plants, etc. ) so I could pull them up to make any changes.

Changed my life the first day!!

I cannot say enough good things about this app!! I cannot believe this is all I’ve needed my entire life!! I normally live In a constant time warp! I would wake up at 8:30am sit down to drink my tea and then while still drinking tea I’d look at the clock and it’d be 3:00!! Normally I would spend my day planning my day but not end up with any time left to actually do anything I planned lol! I was always running late and never felt like I had enough time for anything! I didn’t even realized how distracted I was! I’d go to start laundry but then notice the bathroom needs to be cleaned so I’d start that and then notice the floors need to be swept so I’d jump to that and I’d try doing a million things at once stressing about time for all the other things and now I can just focus on one thing at a time because I know that everything is in my routine so I’ll get to those things at their time and don’t need to worry! I feel so at peace and so at ease now! I even schedule in stretching and meditation which I always tricked myself into thinking I didn’t have time for! At the end of my day i feel so energized and accomplished and I’m shocked that it’s so easy to keep up on all the chores and to prioritize self care at the same time! I never have laundry or dishes sitting for days… and I get everything done so fast and then I have so much free time and can actually enjoy it! I usually just felt super busy all day but would somehow not get anything done! I’m so thrilled that it’s only $2/ month to feel like I normal human! 😂

I scoured the App Store for routine supporting apps. When I found a well-reviewed app that met the criteria I had in mind, I put in hours of testing. I ended up trying out Structured, Habit Hub, Tiimo, Brili Routines, & Time Bloc. Tiimo came the closest to the functionality of Routinery, but it was so glitchy it was unusable. I’ve been using this app for 2 months so far. It is SO HELPFUL for my executive function issues (late-diagnosed adult ADHD and ASD). Routinery offers the ability to build what I call “routine playlists” (abbreviated as rp henceforth). Some of the apps I tested also have this function. Routinery’s playlists are unique because: 1))) each task in the rp is assigned a duration & when the rp runs each task has a timer (essential for me, because I have time-blindness), 2))) rps & individual tasks can be aperiodic (free from scheduling) OR scheduled, 3))) when an rp is running, tasks *do not* autocomplete until I press the ✅ (unless I select the “auto-next” setting for that specific task), 4))) audio & voice notifications are available at a variety of intervals to indicate the beginning, time remaining, and end of a task, as well as a stopwatch count of time elapsed since the anticipated task completion point if I’ve gone over time on a task and time elapsed since rp was paused (so useful because I often get distracted & completely forget I’ve paused an rp), 5))) creating, skipping & reordering tasks is much quicker & simpler than other apps I tested.
